  • Patent number: 11939594
Abstract: The present application relates to plasma cells and plasma cell precursors that express a macromolecule, such as a protein, protein mimetic or a peptide and compositions comprising these plasma cells or plasma cell precursors. The application further relates to methods of using and making the plasma cells and plasma cell precursors that express the macromolecule. Methods of treatment comprising administering the plasma cells or plasma cell precursors are also contemplated.

  • Publication number: 20240075895
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for crash detection on one or more mobile devices (e.g., smartwatch and/or smartphone). In some embodiments, a method comprises: detecting, with at least one processor, a crash event on a crash device; extracting, with the at least one processor, multimodal features from sensor data generated by multiple sensing modalities of the crash device; computing, with the at least one processor, a plurality of crash decisions based on a plurality of machine learning models applied to the multimodal features; and determining, with the at least one processor, that a severe vehicle crash has occurred involving the crash device based on the plurality of crash decisions and a severity model.

  • Patent number: 8447188
Abstract: A retro-reflective identification tag capable of modulating an optical signal whereby to support bi-directional communication with an associated remote optical interrogation device. The tag comprises a MOEMS modulating layer over a retro-reflective substrate, giving the tag a wide angle of effective operation. The tag modulator may optionally be switched on only responsive to detection of a precursor beam from the interrogation system in order to save power. The interrogation device may make use of multiple optical wavelengths for communicating with the tag.

  • Patent number: 5000170
Abstract: An orthopedic and orthotic bipivotal hinge assembly having a hinge body and a pair of coplanar and independently-pivotal hinge arms. The proximal end portions of the hinge arms are disposed within the hinge body and have at least one set of interdigitating end plates defining an arrangement of abutment surfaces that are coplanar with each other, face generally in the same direction, and are disposed in side-by-side relation, when the arms are in first positions of adjustment (e.g., extension). In one embodiment, a single set of interdigitating plates with one such arrangement of abutment surfaces is provided; in a second embodiment two sets of interdigitating plates with two arrangements of abutment surfaces for controlling both extension and flexion are provided. Continuously variable extension and/or flexion control is achieved by an adjusting screw, or a pair of adjusting screws, carried by the hinge body.
