  • Patent number: 7372436
Abstract: The present invention introduces a novel design for active matrix displays, utilizing both organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and thin-film electroluminescent technologies. In a first aspect there is provided a top-emitting OLED, including an optical interference contrast-enhancing stack that is placed on the top of the driving thin-film transistor, and which extendes to the entire pixel area to cover the reflecting parts of the pixel. In a second aspect, there is provided a bottom-emitting OIED wherein an optical interference contrast-enhancing stack is placed right under the driving thin-film transistor and, separately between the organic stack and the top electrode, typically a cathode. The optical interference contrast-enhancing stack suppresses light reflection from the thin-film transistor and the upper electrode.

  • Patent number: 7008877
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for etching a photolithographic substrate. The photolithographic substrate is placed on a support member in a vacuum chamber. A processing gas for etching a material from the photolithographic substrate is introduced into the vacuum chamber, and a plasma is generated. An RF bias is supplied to the support member in the vacuum chamber through an RF bias frequency generator at or below the ion transit frequency. Exposed material is etched from the photolithographic substrate with improved CD Etch Linearity and CD Etch Bias since the low frequency bias allows the developed charge on the photolithographic substrate, generated by the plasma, to dissipate.

  • Publication number: 20030089680
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for the etching of a thin film upon a photomask. The etching is carried out in a reactor via an inductively coupled pulsed plasma. Pulsing of the plasma is achieved by regulating the time period (or duty cycle) in which the plasma is generated. It has been found that by decreasing the duty cycle, high etch selectively can be achieved and feature sizes can be faithfully maintained.

  • Publication number: 20030077910
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for etching thin damage sensitive layers with a plasma. The invention finds particular application for etching damage sensitive thin films such as Gallium Arsenide on Aluminum Gallium Arsenide. Damage to sensitive thin films is avoided by lowering the DC bias of the cathode. The low DC bias is achieved by increasing the frequency of the power source producing the plasma. A reduced etch rate, suitable for etching thin layers, is achieved by pulsing the RF power source between a high power and a low power at a selected duty cycle.

  • Patent number: 6071822
Abstract: A method of anisotropically plasma etching a silicon on insulator substrate wherein undercutting is substantially eliminated by utilizing as a finishing etch step a reactive ion etching process wherein the ion density is reduced in order to limit ion charging through different size recesses in order to uniformly etch in a vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 5860097
Abstract: An associative cache memory for a computer with improved cache hit times. All possible data items are presented to bus driver circuits, thereby deferring data selection as long as possible. Driving and multiplexing are combined. The output of tag comparison directly selects at most one set of driver circuits. As a result, the only processing time in series with tag comparison is driver circuit selection. Since the data selection delay in series with tag comparison delay is reduced, the time delay is reduced for a clock edge for data driving after tag comparison, thereby enabling a faster clock.

  • Patent number: 5790626
Abstract: A unified bi-directional LFSR is fabricated from latches having dual (Forward and Reverse) inputs. Each such latch accepts its inputs upon receipt of a clock signal that is respectively associated with the forward or reverse direction. The appropriate collection of XOR gates exists between latch outputs and the inputs associated with a forward clock signal, so as to produce the forward sequence. Likewise, another appropriate collection of XOR gates exists between the latch outputs and the inputs associated with the reverse clock signal. To produce a "reverse" LFSR corresponding to the polynomial that is the reciprocal of the polynomial for the "forward" LFSR, the latches of the reciprocal (reverse direction) LFSR are construed as being numbered in the opposite order. That is, a single set of latches (register) has both a forward linear feedback network and a reverse linear feedback network.

  • Patent number: 5547133
Abstract: A ground oat-based cereal provides a nutritional, hot meal with improved flavor, textural taste, and keeping qualities. That is, the ground oat cereal maintains its consistency and heat over a longer period of time than conventional oatmeal. The oat-based cereal includes ground and sifted oat granules of which 27%-33% by weight have sizes greater than generally about 0.08 inches, and 67%-73% by weight have sizes ranging between generally about 0.04 inches and generally about 0.08 inches. Whole oat groats are roll cut and sifted to produce the oat-based cereal. The density of the oat portion of the cereal ranges between 28-34 lbs/cu. ft.

  • Patent number: 5368077
Abstract: A planer is improved by recognizing the source of instability of a board relative to a guidebar. An angled relationship between feed roller force the guidebar and holds the board against the guidebar. Traditional cutting heads urging the board in the opposite direction relative to that of the feed rollers, develop lateral force vectors kicking the board away from the guidebar. By establishing a zero lead relationship between the cutter heads and the board as it rests against the guidebar, the board enjoys greater stability. The disclosed apparatus further includes an air regulated top pressure plate establishing a given separation between itself and a cutter head, but accommodating abnormal operating conditions, i.e., jammed boards, by vertical movement relative to the cutter head facilitates remote actuation to quickly relieve a jammed condition. Also shown, a bearing housing for a cutter head support shaft is carried on an articulated hinge to improve manual mounting of the bearing housing upon the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5211565
Abstract: The invention comprises a plurality of stacked planar processing circuit boards surrounded on at least one side by a plurality of memory boards located substantially perpendicular to the planar processing boards, the processing and memory boards connected by orthogonal interconnect modules. The orthogonal interconnect modules allow closely-spaced orthogonal connection of the processing boards to the memory boards. The memory boards are of a densely packed design having a plurality of removeable memory chip stacks located on the memory boards.

  • Patent number: 5204130
Abstract: A reclosable container for sliced food products having a one-piece container body and integral hinge and lid. The front wall of the container body is provided with a forward protrusion to facilitate removal of a desired number of slices. A locking mechanism enables the lid to be locked in closed position, and provides an audible indication when the lid is locked. The container is reusable and may be made from a polymeric material having sufficient transparency to enable the consumer to count slices viewed through the front wall as they are being removed.
