  • Patent number: 6126378
Abstract: A self-loading trailer has a flat deck that can be raised and lowered between a horizontal transport position and a downwardly and rearwardly inclined loading position. A pair of winches adjacent the front end of the deck are normally maintained in a stowed position slightly inboard from opposite sides from the deck but can be shifted outwardly into extended positions outboard of the lateral confines of the deck. In such extended positions, the winches may be used to draw a first container up onto the deck as the inclined deck is moved rearwardly under the container, and then a second container behind the first container, without interfering with the first container. When both containers are fully loaded, the winches are retracted back into their stored positions.

  • Patent number: 4556357
Abstract: A truck in the nature of an automotive vehicle for carrying and moving heavy loads, bulky articles, freight, etc., has a wheeled front section which includes a cab and an engine compartment and a wheeled rear section which includes a cargo-receiving bed. The two sections are articulated to permit raising of the truck at the articulation or joint between the sections, causing the front section to slope downwardly and forwardly from the joint and the rear section to slope downwardly and rearwardly from the joint, resulting in the bed being positioned in a small angle of inclination relative to the plane of the surface which supports the truck such as to facilitate loading and unloading. The bed is reciprocable fore and aft of the rear section by use of hydraulic power means for placing its rear ramp against such surface, and a linkage system, also hydraulically powered, effects the tilting operation.

  • Patent number: 4492507
Abstract: A control assembly for shifting the undercarriage of a trailer to a position permitting tilting of the bed for facilitating loading of cargo has a relatively long stroke such as to appreciably decrease the slope of the bed when in its tilted position with the undercarriage disposed forwardly remote from its normal roading position. The assembly permits the loading of cargo which would otherwise require additional ramps needed also in certain instances to compensate for overhang.

  • Patent number: 4361191
Abstract: Through adaptation of and improvement upon secondary, minimum tillage techniques, there is provided a single pass, seedbed method and agricultural machine, utilizing reduction, incorporation, aeration and other procedures, capable of effectively handling all types of adverse field conditions, ground compositions and soil makeup in such manner as to quickly, easily and inexpensively convert all materials and substances therein contained or to be added thereto from a state generally unsuited for seeding and satisfactory plant development to a finished condition wherein any desired seed type may be thereupon planted, sowed or set thereinto without difficulty and with an assurance of good germination and strong, healthy crop growth unimpaired by wind and soil erosion, ineffective moisture retention and other impediments which otherwise normally reduce or destroy profitable harvesting results.
