  • Publication number: 20240071669
Abstract: A mounting device for attaching a device to an attachment object, including: a magnet portion on a magnet-retaining portion; a mount-attachment portion configured to attach to the attachment object, the mount-attachment portion including a ring-shaped cam defining a cam surface with a cam profile having a variable height; and a base portion defining a channel for receiving the ring-shaped cam and defining a central opening for receiving the magnet portion, the base portion rotatable relative to the mount-attachment portion and including a grip surface comprising a grip material. The magnet portion is received into the central opening of the base portion, the ring-shaped cam is received into the channel of the base portion, and a first end of the magnet-retaining portion is adjacent to the cam surface. Rotation of the base portion relative to the attachment portion causes an end of the magnet to move away from the grip surface.

  • Publication number: 20240071667
Abstract: Leverless magnetic hook devices including a body portion, a hook portion, a magnetic-retaining portion, and a magnetic device. The body portion defines a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The hook portion extends from the first surface of the body portion. The magnet-retaining portion is disposed within at least part of the body portion. The magnetic device defines a first surface coupled to the magnetic retaining portion and a second surface opposite the first surface such that at least a portion of the second surface of the magnetic device extends substantially parallel to and is recessed a distance D from the second surface of the body portion. In this way, the magnetic device is configured to magnetically couple the magnetic hook device to a ferromagnetic object.

  • Publication number: 20240071668
Abstract: A detachable magnetic device includes a body portion, a levering cover, a magnet-retaining portion, a magnet, and a grip material. The body portion defines a first surface, a second opposing surface, and a magnet-receiving opening. A cam portion of the levering cover is pivotally connected to an end of the body portion. The magnet-retaining portion extends across part of the first surface of the body portion. The magnet is coupled to the magnetic-retaining portion and disposed within the magnet-receiving opening. The grip material surrounds the magnet-receiving opening. The magnet is configured to magnetically couple the detachable magnetic device to a ferromagnetic object and the cam portion is configured to contact a surface of the ferromagnetic object when the levering cover rotated relative to the body portion to release the detachable magnetic device from the ferromagnetic object.

  • Patent number: 11915862
Abstract: A device for attachment to a surface of a ferromagnetic object and for holding an item near the surface, including: a base with a frame and grip portion, the grip portion coupled to the frame at the rear side and having an outer surface for gripping the surface; a magnet-retaining portion pivotally connected to an end of the frame; a magnetic device connected to the magnet-retaining portion and having an outer surface displaced frontwardly from the outer surface of the grip portion; a cover pivotally connected to another end of the frame, the cover including a lifter configured to contact an end of the magnet-retaining portion and cause an end of the magnet-retaining portion to pivot about the frame when the cover is lifted and the lifter is rotated, thereby moving the first end of the magnet-retaining portion and the magnetic device in a rear-to-front direction; and an item-holding portion.

  • Publication number: 20040151292
Abstract: A platform is disposed between a subscriber and a telephony switch such as a Class 5 switch. The platform receives indications of calls placed to and by a subscriber and identifies a service type of each of the calls. The platform validates the subscriber as an active customer based on automatic number identification. The platform determines if the subscriber is eligible to receive or place a call, and/or employ calling features, by looking-up in a local platform database an account status of the customer. For a prepaid customer this includes establishing whether the subscriber has sufficient funds in a prepaid account to pay tolls related to a call. The platform routes an eligible call to or from the subscriber through the switch and a telephony signal system, creates a call detail record and updates subscriber information in the database upon completion of the call.
