  • Patent number: 11970310
Abstract: One or more implementations of a multi-film thermoplastic bag with a grab zone of contact areas positioned in a high-touch area of the bag. For example, the multi-film thermoplastic bag includes one or more regions of a first film in contact with a second film at one or more contact areas. The grab zone regions of one or more contact areas are located in visible and high-touch areas to provide visual and tactile cues of strength and durability. Moreover, the grab zone regions of one or more contact areas serve to distribute pull and lift forces across a wider area in order to avoid common failures in high-touch areas such as over stretching, punctures, tears, and rips.

  • Patent number: 7778163
Abstract: A method of re-establishing a connection for a communication link is provided. The link has first and second portions, having the first portion in a first communication network, the second in a second communication network and an interface connecting first portion to the portion. The first communication network has a first communication protocol and a first OAM protocol to monitor integrity of the first portion. Similarly, the second communication network has a second communication protocol and a second OAM protocol. The method utilizes the second OAM protocol to detect a failure in the second portion. Upon detection of the failure, an alternate route for the second portion in the second communication network is identified, where the alternate route is able to complete the second portion of the communication link from the interface. For the communication link, at the interface the second portion is replaced with the alternate route.

  • Patent number: 7257121
Abstract: A system and method of translating a set of transmission parameters related to a first transmission protocol from said first transmission protocol to a second transmission protocol for a data element being sent on a connection from a first communication network utilizing the first transmission protocol to a second communication network utilizing the second transmission protocol is provided. The method includes mapping a first parameter from the set of transmission parameters to a class of service value for the connection and mapping the class of service value and a second parameter from the set of transmission parameters to another parameter for the second transmission protocol.

  • Patent number: 6862286
Abstract: In a computer network of devices, at least some of the devices (i.e. the DCHP devices) have a static (e.g. MAC) address which does not change over time and a dynamic (e.g. IP) address which may change over time. There is disclosed a method and computer program for mapping the static address and dynamic address for the devices comprising polling said devices using said IP addresses and during said polling determining the MAC addresses of the devices, and providing a set of mapped static and dynamic addresses, said method including repeating the steps of the method at intervals. Using the method of the invention, it is possible, when entering a particular conversation in a database, to access the IP addresses, to determine which is the current DHCP device that address maps to, and assign the conversation to that device and store it in the database assigned to that device. Therefore, for each DHCP device, one can store a history of the conversations or traffic involved in that device.

  • Patent number: 5117375
Abstract: Magnetic compasses may be affected by local disturbances in the magnetic field in their vicinity. These disturbances may be caused by the addition or removal of a metal article concerned with a vehicle in which the compass is mounted, and may also be due to local variations in the Earth's magnetic field. The system described herein compensates for such disturbances in the magnetic field to maintain the accuracy of the magnetic compass by transforming an ellipsoidal locus to a spherical locus at a different orientation in space. For example, a one-shot algorithm is employed in which data collected during a setting maneuver of the vehicle is processed to fit a generalized reduced quadric equation having six or less coefficients rather than the nine calibration points required in the prior art for fitting a generalized quadric equation for an ellipsoid. The present invention thus significantly reduces the processing power required.
