  • Publication number: 20210006992
Abstract: A wireless testing system is provided that testing transmission speeds associated with a WLAN or other wireless network. In one instance, a network transmission between a device in a telecommunications network and a modem be measured and initiated via an application executed on a mobile device. One or more Wi-Fi speed tests may also be performed to determine a transmission speed between a wireless device associated with the premises and the modem of the WLAN. To conduct the Wi-Fi speed test, a mobile device (such as the mobile device executing the application) may transmit, in some instances in response to an input to the mobile device, an instruction to the test controller to conduct the Wi-Fi speed test. The measured transmission speeds may be controlled by a controller that may store the speed test results in a network repository available to the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20210006984
Abstract: A wireless testing system is provided that tests Wi-Fi signal strength of devices of a local network to determine distribution of network devices within the local network. In particular, one or more Wi-Fi-based devices may be located within or near a premises in which a wireless network is present. The devices are configured to automatically connect to a particular test broadcast signal from a modem and provide signal strength data. An application may log into or otherwise access the information obtained by the modem concerning the Wi-Fi signal strength of the wireless devices. The application may analyze the Wi-Fi signal strength information and may execute a recommendation engine to provide one or more recommendations/directions for installing components of the wireless network, such as wireless devices, modems, etc. to improve the coverage of the wireless network and provide a more robust wireless experience for devices within the wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20170337831
Abstract: One variation of a method for facilitating integration of user input and autonomous operations of a robotic system includes: storing a set of constraints of the robotic system; storing a model of an environment in which the robotic system is to operate; determining whether the robotic system can successfully perform operations specified by a user based on the constraints of the robotic system and the model of the environment; and, in response to determining that the robotic system cannot successfully perform the operations, modifying the operations so that the modified operations can be performed by the robotic system; and generating a set of commands for the robotic system based on the modified operations.

  • Patent number: 8491812
Abstract: Compositions for cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining contained bodies of water such as swimming pools, wading pools, fountains, ornamental ponds, etc. The compositions include pre-determined percentages of hydrates of copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, and aluminum sulfate by weight. The composition uses hydrates of copper, zinc and aluminum sulfates instead of the anhydrous metal salts. The hydrate forms can be mined, transported, processed, mixed and packaged without climate controlled conditions necessary for anhydrous metal salts. Hydrates in the composition can gain additional water molecules or lose attached water molecules during manufacture, processing, transportation or use of the composition, without negatively affecting the physical format of the composition or reducing its effectiveness. The compositions reduce amounts of chlorine and an amount of labor associated with the cleaning, sanitization and maintenance of contained bodies of water.

  • Patent number: 7943093
Abstract: A cover slip for forming a chamber of the type for use with a hybridization reaction or similar molecular search. The cover slip has a surface and two substantially parallel, opposed edges bounding the surface. A spacer has a pair of spacer segments, and each spacer segment extends along substantially a full length of a different one of the opposed edges, thereby forming a chamber between the spacer segments, the cover slip and the substrate. The chamber receives the specimen when the cover slip is placed on the substrate with the spacer sandwiched therebetween. The cover slip has a thickness providing a beam stiffness permitting the cover slip to maintain a substantially constant distance between the surface and the substrate when a liquid is introduced between the cover slip and the substrate. In another embodiment, the spacer extends along the perimeter of the cover slip and has discontinuities forming two channels across the perimeter for introducing the liquid therethough.

  • Patent number: 7613760
Abstract: Efficiently implemented multi-channel integrators and multi-channel differentiators utilize a delay section in a single integrator or differentiator in lieu of parallel integrator or differentiator lines to handle multi-channel data flow and processing. The delay section functions like a shift register, greatly reducing the space and/or resources required for implementing the integrator or differentiator. Such integrators and differentiators can be used in multi-channel decimators, interpolators and numerically controlled oscillators in place of multiple instances of single channel integrators that have had to be used in earlier systems. These structures and devices can be implemented in programmable devices such as PLDs and similar devices, in which the delay section can be implemented in embedded memory in the device. Multi-stage decimators and interpolators can use multiple instances of an integrator and/or differentiator in series.

  • Publication number: 20080035045
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transporting a vessel is provided. The apparatus includes: a base which is attachable to the vessel; and a wheel rotatably mountable to the base such that the apparatus is operable at the wheel to support the vessel substantially midway beneath the vessel when the apparatus is configured in a transport configuration. A pair of parallel, spaced apart cross rails extending between a pair of parallel, spaced apart side bars form a frame of the base. The wheel is mountable between wheel supports attached to the frame. A pair of support arms are slidably and rotatably connected to the cross rails. A support structure is connectable to one of the side bars. The apparatus is collapsible from the transport configuration to a generally planar collapsed configuration. A kit may include the apparatus and attachment means for attaching the apparatus to the vessel.
