  • Publication number: 20130238509
Abstract: A secure physical facility for promoting innovation development in a secure manner is provided. The facility includes separate physical areas accessible to inventors and service providers based on corresponding security policies. The facility includes an access control system that implements the security policies to control access to one of the physical areas assigned to the inventor, control access to the invention, and control access to physical areas assigned to the service providers, and restrict access to other physical areas. The facility also includes a computer network that includes servers to securely store information relating to the invention, implements the security policies to limit access to the information, and includes a security system that protects the computer network from cyber attacks originated from outside of the facility. The separate physical areas include a secure indoor or outdoor prototype demonstration and testing center for the inventor to develop and/or test a prototype.

  • Publication number: 20120090659
Abstract: A portable assembly for supporting a plurality of solar panels may include a plurality of solar panels mechanically coupled to each other and configured to transform from an expanded configuration to a collapsed configuration. Each solar panel of the plurality of solar panels may include one or more solar cells. The expanded configuration may be a configuration in which an active surface of each solar panel of the plurality of solar panels is exposed. And, the collapsed configuration may be a configuration in which the active surfaces of the plurality of solar panels overlap. The portable assembly may also include connectors configured to removably electrically connect the plurality of solar panels together.

  • Patent number: 8008796
Abstract: A water tower includes a reservoir configured to store fluid. The reservoir includes a bottom surface. The water tower also includes a recirculating passageway fluidly connected to the reservoir. The recirculating passageway includes a first end connected to and located near or below the bottom surface of the reservoir, and a second end connected to the reservoir above the bottom surface of the reservoir. The water tower further includes a pump located in the recirculating passageway and configured to pump fluid through the recirculating passageway, and a fluid-driven energy generating device fluidly connected to the recirculating passageway. At least a portion of fluid directed through the energy generating device is directed through the recirculating passageway.

  • Publication number: 20110023867
Abstract: An assembly for supporting at least one solar panel includes two side brackets. Each side bracket includes a top member having an L-shaped cross-section with a top portion substantially perpendicular to a side portion, a bottom member having an L-shaped cross-section with a bottom portion substantially perpendicular to a side portion, and a height adjustment mechanism connecting the side portions. The height adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust a height between the top and bottom members so that the top and bottom portions of each side bracket clamp onto respective top and bottom surfaces of at least one solar panel. The assembly also includes a width adjustment mechanism connecting the two side brackets and configured to adjust a width between the two side brackets. At least one of the side brackets includes a first connector configured to electrically connect to a second connector on the at least one solar panel.
