  • Publication number: 20190124523
Abstract: A process for managed service restoration in a wireless communications network includes detecting a mass service outage in the network, controlling a plurality of network elements affected by the mass service outage to remain in an offline state, and sequentially permitting the plurality of network elements to register with the network.

  • Publication number: 20190098527
Abstract: Random distributions of elements in a power schedule can be used to reduce interference in wireless communication networks with multiple transmitters. A random power schedule may be implemented by determining a first random power schedule for a first base station, wherein the first random power schedule is an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) schedule that associates a random distribution of a plurality of power levels with a corresponding plurality of time and frequency resources, assigning transmissions from the first base station to a plurality of mobile devices to the plurality of time and frequency resources, and transmitting data to the plurality of mobile devices at the respective plurality of power levels.

  • Patent number: 8543121
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for allocating frequency resources based on historical usage data in a wireless communication system. A base station tracks its local usage pattern to generate a set of historical usage statistics. The base station may share those statistics with another base station node in the same network and with a server. The server may generate a frequency resource allocation plan to allocate shared resources most efficiently to various base stations based on historical usage information. Allocating frequency resources in this manner reduces the probability of cochannel interference between nearby cells and optimizes power solutions for local and regional radio access networks.

  • Patent number: 8406759
Abstract: A networked computing system, including multiple radio access nodes (RANs), multiple radio communications controllers (RCCs), and a data communications network facilitating communications amongst the RANs and the RCCs of the system. A regional RAN receives a default eMIB associated with a first type of RAN (e.g., a macrocell, microcell, picocells, or femtocell RAN types) from a RCC, in response to a registration event of a RAN initialization process. The regional RAN maintains a dynamic eMIB comprising network operating parameters determined by various self-optimization processes. The network operating parameters of the dynamic eMIB are selected to fall within a range designated by the default eMIB. During a network failure condition, the regional RAN is configured to use a temporary eMIB comprising failure level operating parameters in order to mitigate network deficiencies caused by the network failure condition.

  • Patent number: 8385220
Abstract: A networked computing system including multiple network base stations, user equipment, and a data communications network facilitating communications amongst all devices of the networked computing system. The radio frequency isolation between two network base stations is determined by taking measurements of a radio operating parameter associated with at least one interference source. A regional network device located near one of the two base stations is configured measures the radio operating parameter on a periodic basis and then transfers the measurements to a radio communications controller. The radio communications controller then allocates network communications resources to user equipment, and optionally designates radio operation levels for one or more network base stations, based on a comparison of the received measurements to known broadcast levels of the radio operating parameter.

  • Patent number: 8193977
Abstract: Distributing data is disclosed. A GPS signal is received from one or more GPS satellites. GPS data associated with at least a portion of the GPS signal is distributed via a power line. In some cases, at least a portion of the distributed signal is used to establish a reference.

  • Patent number: 5228304
Abstract: A refrigerant loss detector and alarm, the detector device suitable for installation in the piping of a refrigeration system which utilizes a liquid/vapor phase change substance as the refrigerant. Upon detection of refrigerant vapor accumulating in the loss detector, thereby displacing refrigerant liquid therefrom, the orientation of a float element containing a mercury switch is affected. Upon a fall in refrigerant liquid level in the loss detector, the mercury switch becomes activated, thereby completing an external electrical circuit which contains a time delay device and an alarm device.
