An insert member is disposed adjacent the speaker basket and the rim, wherein a plurality of sections of the rim are displaced to abut the insert member and couple the shellpot to the speaker basket. A method of assembling the speaker assembly is also provided.

    Abstract: A retaining member of a speaker motor may be formed using a mold. The mold may receive a plurality of speaker motor components. The mold may be configured to receive the speaker motor components in a desired arrangement. The mold may receive an injected material. The injected material may fill unoccupied space in the mold. The injected material may be cooled to form a retaining member to retain the speaker components in the desired arrangement subsequent to removal of the speaker motor components from the mold.
