Publication number: 20240107498Abstract: Techniques are described herein for smart page scanning through identifier sensing, An example method includes a first core receiving, by a first core of a first computing device, a first paging message from a second device at a first duration. The first computing device can determine that a second core of the first computing device is performing an operation that prevents completion of a paging process. The first computing device can determine a second duration for a second paging message based at least in part on determining that the second core is performing the operation. The first computing device can cause the second core to scan for the second paging message from the second computing device at the second duration. The second core can receive the second paging message at the second duration. The second core can transmit a paging response for establishing the connection with the second device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Xianbo Chen, David J. Publication number: 20240102291Abstract: A method of fabricating panels includes providing an insert having an interior portion with a top portion and a positioning stop opposite the top portion, and an exterior portion including a fastener hem. Further, the method includes placing the insert in a mold such that only the fastener hem and the positioning stop contact the mold and centering the insert in the mold with the top portion and the positioning stop. The method also includes filling the mold with a casting material such that the interior portion is submerged in the casting material including the top portion, but some of the positioning stop is not submerged in the casting material, curing the casting material to form a panel on the insert, and removing the panel form the mold.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Stephen W. STEFFES, David J. STUCKY, Andrew Clyde BRANDT, Robert D. SHAW, Nikki J. FULTON

Publication number: 20240107500Abstract: Techniques are described herein for low power page scanning through identifier sensing. An example method includes a first computing device determining that an operation of a first core of the first computing device during a first duration corresponds to a paging message scan by a second core of the first computing device scheduled during a second duration. The first computing device can determine the operation of the first core prevents transmission of a paging message response for establishing a connection with a second computing device via a short range transmission protocol. The first computing device can determine a third duration for the paging message scan such that the operation of a first core does not prevent the transmission of the paging message response. The first computing device can cause the second core to scan for a paging message during the third duration.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Xianbo Chen, David J. Patent number: 11937037Abstract: A housing has a bud portion abutting an elongated stem portion. The bud portion is to fit within an ear. The bud portion has a primary sound outlet at its far end that is to be inserted into an outer ear canal, and abuts the stem portion at its near end. A speaker driver is inside the bud portion. Electronic circuitry inside the housing includes a wireless communications interface to receive audio content over-the-air and in response provides an audio signal to the speaker driver. A rechargeable battery as a power source for the electronic circuitry is located inside a cavity of the stem portion. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Zachary C. Rich, Kurt R. Stiehl, Arun D. Chawan, Michael B. Patent number: 11930042Abstract: A cloud-native global file system, in which one or more filers are associated with a volume of a versioned files system in a private, public or hybrid cloud object store, is augmented to include a rapid ransomware recovery service. Upon detecting a ransomware attack associated with one or more files or directories of the volume, read and write access to the volume is restricted. A recovery filer is then activated or designated in the cloud. A restore operation is then initiated at the recovery filter. Following completion of the restore operation, a new clean (healthy) snapshot of the volume is then created using the recovery filer For any filer other than the recovery filer, a determination is made whether the filer has completed a merge operation with respect to the new clean snapshot. If so, read and write access to the volume is re-enabled from that filer.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2023Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Nasuni CorporationInventors: Andres Rodriguez, David M. Publication number: 20240017105Abstract: A method implemented on an aircraft for controlling a fire suppression system comprises receiving, by a computing system of the aircraft, an indication that the fire suppression system of the aircraft should transition to an active state. The computing system determines whether the aircraft is on a surface. Responsive to determining that the aircraft is on the surface, the computing system controls the fire suppression system to remain or transition to an inactive state.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2022Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: George A.
