  • Patent number: 11951124
Abstract: Tellurium nanowires synthesized using green chemistry methods and having unique morphologies and functional properties are provided. The nanowires have a core of hexagonal crystal phase tellurium and a polymer coating, and can be used for treating cancer without apparent cytotoxicity toward normal human cells.

  • Patent number: 7053643
Abstract: A test probe apparatus having a housing and a probe pin is provided. The housing includes a first housing end portion having a round tapered wall defining a tapered cavity. The probe pin includes a pin base portion rigidly mounted to the housing and a pin tip portion movably mounted to the housing for movement between a first position and a second position. At the first position, the pin tip portion is disposed in a spaced-apart relationship with the pin base portion and protrudes into the tapered cavity. At the second position, the pin tip portion is moved toward the pin base portion relative to the first position.

  • Patent number: 6347374
Abstract: A system for event detection employs a collector that collects raw audit data made up of raw audit data records at an audit source; a database; an inserter at a downstream processing location that inserts Virtual Records into the database, including both a first type of Virtual Record generated in response to a raw audit data record, and a second type of Virtual Record generated in response to a detected audit event; the inserter; a parser; coupled to the collector, that converts raw audit data records in the raw audit data into Virtual Records; a detector that detects audit events in response to the Virtual Records generated by the parser, and generates the second type of Virtual Record in the event an audit event is detected.

  • Patent number: 5418758
Abstract: Apparatus and a method using ultrasonic signals to determine the distance between the displacement of two points in space. An ultrasonic distance measurement unit (1) generates frequency modulated ultrasonic waves using binary shift keying. The signals are transmitted by the transmitting transducer (2) towards a reflector assembly (30), preferably comprised of two reflectors (31, 32). One of the reflectors (31) is smaller than the other reflector (32), and the smaller reflector (31) is positioned in front of the larger reflector (32). The reflected signals are received by the receiving transducer (3). The unit (1) phase digitizes and processes the received signal by recording time stamps of zero-crossings of the received signal. The speed of sound may be determined by a temperature measurement system (5) and/or by measuring the transit time difference between the two reflectors (31, 32) of the assembly (30).
