  • Publication number: 20200234563
Abstract: Techniques are described for establishing a two-way voice communication session with an alarm system. The alarm system may establish a two-way voice communication session with an operator associated with a monitoring service that provides monitoring services for alarm events detected by the alarm system. The alarm system also may establish a two-way voice communication session with a notification recipient that is interested in receiving notifications associated with events detected by the alarm system.

  • Publication number: 20200226918
Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting and handling unauthenticated commands in a property monitoring system. In some implementations, a monitoring system may include sensors located throughout a property, a monitoring control unit, and an input device. The monitoring control unit may be configured to receive data collected by the sensors, as well as an input command detected by the input device. For an input command that does not include authentication information, the monitoring control unit may generate property state information based on the sensor data, then analyze the property state data and the input command against one or more rules that relate to authorization of unauthenticated commands. Based on the analysis, the monitoring control unit may determine whether to perform the action corresponding to the input command or whether to perform another action, for example, generating and providing a notification or authorization request to a user.

  • Patent number: 10706714
Abstract: Monitoring system alert technology, in which monitoring system data is accessed from a monitoring system that is located in a property of a user and the monitoring system data is analyzed against one or more rules that define alerts provided for the monitoring system. Based on the analysis, a determination is made that an alert for the monitoring system is needed and conditions for providing the alert are accessed. Location of a mobile device of a user associated with the monitoring system and timing related to providing the alert are monitored. The monitored location of the mobile device and the monitored timing are analyzed with respect to the accessed conditions. Based on the analysis, a determination is made that the accessed conditions for providing the alert are met and the alert is output at the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10692342
Abstract: Image surveillance and reporting technology, in which an event that is indicative of potential physical activity within an area corresponding to a location of a camera unit is detected. In response to detection of the event, the camera unit is controlled to capture one or more images of the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit. The one or more images captured by the camera unit are analyzed to determine whether the one or more images include image data that is indicative of relevant physical activity within the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit. The one or more images are handled based on the determination of whether the one or more images include image data that is indicative of relevant physical activity within the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit.

  • Patent number: 10679442
Abstract: In some implementations, systems and techniques are described to automatically unlock a front door of a property in response to detecting an alarm signal indicating an emergency at or near a property. Data indicating occurrence of an emergency condition at a property is initially obtained. A lock configuration for an electronic lock of the property is determined. An unlock instruction is generated for the electronic lock based on the determined lock configuration for the electronic lock. The unlock instruction is transmitted to the electronic lock such that, when the unlock instruction is received by the electronic lock, the electronic lock is unlocked according to the unlock instruction.

  • Patent number: 10650652
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for an integrated security environment to monitor activities at a commercial facility and a residential facility. In some implementations, a monitoring system monitors a property that includes one or more sensors located at the property and generate sensor data. A monitor control unit receives and analyzes the sensor data. Based on analyzing the sensor data, the monitor control unit determines that an event has likely occurred at the property and generates data indicating that the event has likely occurred at the property. A monitoring server receives the data indicating the event has likely occurred at the property. Based on the data that the event has likely occurred at the property, transmitting, to an additional monitoring system that is configured to monitor an additional property, instructions for the additional monitoring system to perform an action.

  • Patent number: 10469283
Abstract: Techniques are described for using information from a knob sensor of an appliance in a property monitoring system. In some implementations, a monitoring system may be configured to receive sensor information from a knob, receive monitoring device information from a monitoring device and, based on the sensor information from the knob, identify a knob event. The monitoring system may integrate the knob event with the monitoring device information and analyze the integrated knob event and monitoring device information against one or more rules related to usage of the appliance in view of the state of the property. Based on analyzing the integrated knob event and monitoring device information, the monitoring system may determine whether to perform an action, such as notifying a user or activating an appliance.

  • Publication number: 20190304282
Abstract: Techniques are described for tracking intruders of a monitored property by the unique identifying characteristics or “digital fingerprints” of electronic devices carried by the intruders. A system detects an alarm event at a monitored property based on output from at least one sensor located at the monitored property. In response to detecting the alarm event at the monitored property, the system initiates a process to gather electronic identifiers for mobile electronic devices located within the monitored property at a time corresponding to the detected alarm event. The system determines electronic identifiers for the mobile electronic devices located within the monitored property at a time corresponding to the detected alarm event. The system stores in electronic storage, information indicating the determined electronic identifiers for the mobile electronic devices located within the monitored property at a time corresponding to the detected alarm event.

  • Patent number: 10419908
Abstract: Techniques are described for provisioning Wi-Fi network connectivity for a wireless device without requiring a user to provide network credentials to allow the wireless device to establish a network connection. In some implementations, a method is performed by a computing device to provision a wireless network connection. A MAC address associated with a property is obtained. A temporary network credential for the wireless device is determined based on the MAC Address of the wireless device. The temporary network credential permits the wireless device to connect to a temporary network. The temporary network credential for the wireless device is available over the temporary network. A determination that the wireless device has connected to the temporary network using the temporary network credential for the wireless device is made. An instruction is transmitted to the wireless device over the temporary network in response to the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a storage device, for preventing false alarms due to display images. In one aspect, a monitoring system is disclosed that includes a processor and a computer storage media storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations can include obtaining, by the monitoring system, image data that depicts a portion of a property, determining, by the monitoring system, that the image data depicts an object, based on determining, by the monitoring system, that the image data depicts an object, determining, by the monitoring system, whether the depicted object is located within an exclusionary region of the property, and based on determining, by the monitoring system, that the depicted object is not located within an exclusionary region of the property, triggering, by the monitoring system, an event based on the image data.

  • Patent number: 10395504
Abstract: Systems, methods, and techniques for detecting the recording activity of a sensor are described. A monitoring system includes a sensor that is configured to generate sensor data, as well as a failsafe circuit that is configured to monitor an electronic signal of the sensor and determine that the sensor is recording. The system can further include a control unit that receives indication from the failsafe circuit that the sensor is recording and, based on determining that the control unit did not request the sensor to record or that the control unit is not aware that the sensor is recording, the system outputs a signal, e.g. to an indicator light, indicating that the sensor is recording.
