    Abstract: A fiber placement system comprises a resin impregnation assembly for applying a resin to one or more fiber tows and for infusing the fiber tows with the resin to form one or more inline resin-infused fiber tows. The fiber placement system further includes a fiber placement head comprising at least one cooler configured to receive and cool the in-line resin-infused fiber tows from the resin impregnation assembly. The fiber placement head further includes at least one cutter assembly configured to receive and cut the cooled resin-infused fiber tows and a compaction assembly configured to receive and compact the cut fiber tows onto a tool. A fiber placement method is also provided.
