  • Patent number: 7469733
Abstract: A tyre for a vehicle wheel comprising two sidewalls, a tread, beads, the sidewall intended to be positioned on the interior side of the vehicle being shorter than that intended to be positioned on the exterior side of the vehicle, a reinforcement structure extending between the beads and maintained in said beads by anchoring zones, each of the beads comprising a specific and distinct arrangement of the anchoring zone thereof, such that the anchoring zone of the bead intended to be positioned on the exterior side of the vehicle exhibits a greater anchoring capacity than the anchoring zone of the bead intended to be on the interior side of the vehicle. The internal and external anchoring zones are thus arranged in such a manner as to produce, in operation, a rim clamping load which is substantially identical on each side.

  • Patent number: 7051779
Abstract: A tire comprising two sidewalls, beads, a reinforcement structure extending radially from each of the beads towards the crown zone, at least one of said beads comprising: a bead seat of inverted type; an anchoring zone for the reinforcement structure in said bead, comprising an arrangement of circumferential cords, a bonding mix being arranged between the circumferential cords and the reinforcement structure, said bonding mix of the anchoring zone having a elasticity modulus at a deformation of 10% of less than 20 MPa and preferably between 10 and 20 MPa; an axially outer zone arranged in the zone of the bead; a bearing zone for said bead. The anchoring rubber mix makes it possible, in spite of its rigidity which is very much less than what was advocated previously, to retain very satisfactory endurance properties.

  • Patent number: 6766840
Abstract: The invention concerns a tire whose crown contains a ply of circumferentially oriented cords. That ply is so arranged that in sensitive zones, as, for example, at the side ends of the adjacent crown reinforcing ply, the laying pitch of the circumferentially oriented cords is markedly increased. That considerably lessens the risk of damage to the circumferentially oriented cords in those zones.

  • Patent number: 6533012
Abstract: A tire whose crown has a ply of bimodulus reinforcements circumferentially oriented and spiral-wound, the ply being so arranged that, in the new tire, its reinforcements have a high-temperature contraction potential identical to that of the adhesive yarn before it is introduction in the tire. The tire has an appreciably diminished running noise.
