Patent number: 11934541Abstract: A blockchain architecture allows blocks to store both public and private data. The public data may be accessible to any node in the blockchain network, while the private data may be accessible only to nodes specified in an access list, which may be provided when a record is added to the blockchain. When a new record is received, any private fields in the record may be identified and encrypted by a receiving node. The key may then be encrypted and sent with the protected record to other nodes in the access list. These nodes can access the encryption key, decrypt the private fields, and provide a consensus decision to a receiving node. After consensus, the protected record may be added to the blockchain, where the public fields may be freely accessed by any node, and the private fields remain accessible only to nodes in the access list.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Dinesh Kumar, David Joseph Haimes, Todd Jeffery Little

Patent number: 11159262Abstract: A system 1 for controlling a plurality of irrigation valves 21, 22 . . . 2n is shown. The system receives 110 or 240 volts, mains voltage, electricity from the mains. This is applied to a 28 volt square wave generator 3, whose output is modulated in a modulator 4 under control of a control circuit 5. The modulated output is applied to a live line 6, receiving modulated positive and negative pulses of 28 volts with respect to a neutral line 7. At each valve 21, 22 . . . 2n, a respective decoder 81, 82 . . . 8n is provided. Live and neutral lines 10,11 pass from the decoders to the valves. Each decoder 8n has an input connector 21 for the live and neutral pair 6,7 powering it and an output connector 22 for the further live and neutral pair 10,11 to the respective valve 2n.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2019Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: Heron Electric Company LimitedInventors: James Alexander Carter, David Jeffery Carter

Patent number: 9602645Abstract: NFC-enabled systems and devices 110, 120, 950, and related methods 1400, for determining the orientation of an NFC-enabled mobile device within a covering 10. The orientation determination may include determining which way each face of an NFC-enabled mobile device 110, 120 is facing in the covering 10, and which end of the NFC-enable device is oriented in which way in the covering, through the use of particular arrangements of at least one NFC device attached to the covering and at least one NFC antenna of the NFC-enabled mobile device. By determining the orientation of the NFC-enabled device within the covering, the NFC-enabled device may then be configured for executing a particular command, such as to optimize some aspect of the NFC-enabled device based on the device orientation.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2013Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Eric Thomas Eaton, David Jeffery Hayes
