The alert device is configured to detect or otherwise measure the angle of orientation of the head region such as relative to the horizontal plane. The alert device is configured to provide an alert when the angle orientation of the head region falls outside a predetermined value or range of values. The alert may be any audio, visual, or tactile means of notifying a user as to an alarm condition.
