Publication number: 20230032197Abstract: An electric drive system for a vehicle and a method includes determining a headroom target for a drive system of a vehicle that includes an engine. The method includes determining whether a current speed of the engine can be decreased while the engine continues to provide a requested traction output of the drive system, and responsive to determining that the current speed of the engine can be decreased, decreasing the current speed of the engine to a reduced speed while the engine maintains the headroom target determined by the drive system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Henry Todd Young, Rekha Doddarangaiah Prasad, David John Scott, Timothy Robert Heller, Venkat Jayaraman

Publication number: 20230029939Abstract: An electric drive system for a vehicle and method includes controlling a propulsion system of the vehicle to operate according to a first torque-speed relationship between a power generated by an engine and a speed of the engine. The engine is controlled according to the first torque-speed relationship during acceleration of the vehicle by motors that are powered by operation of the engine. The method includes determining that operation of the propulsion system has reached a steady state following the propulsion system operating according to the first torque-speed relationship and controlling the propulsion system to operate according to a second torque-speed relationship between the power and the speed of the engine. The second torque-speed relationship is reduced relative to the first torque-speed relationship such that the engine speed in the first torque-speed relationship is associated with a greater amount of power than in the second torque-speed relationship.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Henry Todd Young, Rekha Doddarangaiah Prasad, David John Scott, Timothy Robert Heller, Paul Wiczynski, Phanindra Garimella

Patent number: 10997556Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for enterprise applications. Embodiments commence by accessing a first database table having columns pertaining to one or more cost items of a first project and accessing a second database table having columns pertaining to cost items of a second project. A user interface aids definition of user-defined inter-project attributes, wherein the user-defined inter-project attributes relate a database table column of the first project to a database table column of the second project. The user-defined inter-project attributes are used in preparing display information pertaining to at least two projects such that in response to a single action being performed under control of a client system, the prepared display information is sent to a display unit. In some cases, the prepared display information comprises a summary of values, and in some cases, an alert icon is displayed based on a summary value exceeding a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2014Date of Patent: May 4, 2021Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: David John Scott, John David Bilthuis, David Wayne Nowakowski, Lynn J. Publication number: 20190360580Abstract: A wind turbine gear box arrangement having one or more bearings located in a single region along the longitudinal axis and arranged to provide support between an input shaft and a non-rotating support component. The one or more bearings are arranged to at least partially restrict non-rotational movement between the input shaft and the non-rotating support component. A portion along the longitudinal axis between said input shaft and the non-rotating support component is bearingless outside the single region.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2019Publication date: November 28, 2019Inventors: Siu Yun Poon, Christopher James Blockley, David John Scott, Paul James Gibbs, Michael Cosmo Barnes

Publication number: 20150088578Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for enterprise systems and applications. Embodiments commence upon identifying a first account ledger of first data items and a second account ledger of second data items, then identifying a first data item that is stored in a first unit of measurement (e.g., US Dollars), and further identifying a second data item that is stored in a second unit of measurement (e.g., Euros). Configuration steps associate relationships or calculations (e.g., sums, maximums, conversions, etc.) between the first data item and the second data item. When the value of the first data item or the value of the second data item is changed (e.g., by a user-changed value or by a calculation affecting the data item), then alert logic is invoked. When the relationship between the first data item and the second data item is outside of a pre-calculated range then an alert is raised.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2014Publication date: March 26, 2015Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: David Wayne NOWAKOWSKI, Scott Gene BUSS, Michael Donald EIDE, Beverly Lynn NICOL, Lynn J. Patent number: 8882631Abstract: A gearbox for a wind turbine has a bearing arrangement positioned on the downwind side of a first stage planet carrier at a single locus. The planet carrier has a portion extending radially inwards and axially downwind from the planet gears. Thus, the weight of the gearbox is supported between the two theoretical support points of the pair of back to back tapered roller bearings at the downwind side of the first stage planet carrier. A member of unitary construction comprising gearbox flange, input shaft and first stage planet carrier, which can be cast as one piece, reduces the weight of this part compared to previous designs having separate components.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2012Date of Patent: November 11, 2014Assignee: Romax Technology LimitedInventors: Christopher James Blockley, David John Scott, Paul James Gibbs, Siu Yun Poon, Ketan Chandrakant Paua

Publication number: 20090032337Abstract: An automatic remote grease reservoir filling system is provided for mobile machinery which has an installed automatic grease lubrication system. The filling system allows for an indication of low, prior to empty, reservoir quantity status to an operator station of the mobile machinery, which in turn allows for maintenance refill planning to occur in parallel with continued machine operation. An indication of full reservoir status can be made known remotely in the vicinity of a remote fill point, and other points as desired, distanced physically and or visually from the reservoir. Refill operations can be made remotely at the remote fill point which is distanced physically and or visually from the reservoir. Refill of the reservoir will stop automatically when full capacity is reached, prior to spillage. A replenishment flow can be manually shutoff at the fill point even though external supply flow pressure continues.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2007Publication date: February 5, 2009Inventor: David John Scott
