    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a laser diode system. The system may have at least one laser diode emitter having a substrate, at least one laser diode supported on the substrate, and a facet which a laser beam generated by the laser diode is emitted. A cooling subsystem is included which is disposed in contact with the substrate of the laser diode emitter. The cooling subsystem includes a plurality of cooling fins forming a plurality of elongated channels for circulating a cooling fluid therethrough to cool the laser diode emitter. The cooling fluid also flows over the facet of the laser diode emitter.

    Abstract: A neural network has a synapse module with a plurality of synapses. A steering circuit is coupled to an output of the synapse module. A plurality of processing elements is coupled to an output of the steering circuit. Each of the processing elements share the synapses of the synapse module through the steering circuit. A first processing element of the plurality of processing elements receives a first current from a first output of the first synapse and a second current from a second output of the first synapse through the steering circuit. The first processing element has a first capacitor receiving the first current, and a second capacitor receiving the second current to generate a pulse width modulate output signal of the first processing element. A polarity inversion circuit is coupled for receiving the first current and reversing flow direction of the first current.

    Abstract: A process for fabricating an electronic module (30) and a packaged electronic device (56) having a thermally conductive substrate includes the step of thermally spraying of a dielectric layer (12) onto a baseplate (10). An electrically conductive layer (18) is then direct bonded to the thermally sprayed dielectric layer. The thermally sprayed dielectric layer can be formed at selected locations on the upper surface of the baseplate (10) by forming a pattern on the upper surface prior to carrying out the thermal spraying process. The electrically conductive layer (18) is patterned to form an interconnect pattern overlying the baseplate. Because the thermal spraying process can form extremely thin dielectric layers, an electronic module (30) fabricated in accordance with the invention exhibits high heat transfer characteristics.
