    Abstract: A pressure relief bed which supports the body of a patient on two racks, each of which carries a series of parallel, closely-shaped padded slats. The slats on one rack are interposed between the slats on the other rack. The structure includes means for alternately moving one rack and the slats thereon out of contact with the patient's body while the other rack, and the slats thereon, support the body.
