  • Patent number: 5898387
Abstract: A modular meter based utility gateway enclosure which resides between a power meter and a meter socket of a residence or other building supports multiple interchangeable local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) interface cards. As a result, multiple LAN and WAN media are simultaneously and interchangeably supported by simply changing interface cards inserted into the slots of the enclosure. The modular meter based utility gateway enclosure includes a WAN card slot for accepting a WAN interface card, multiple LAN card slots for respectively accepting LAN interface cards, and a data bus for enabling communication between the WAN interface card and the LAN interface cards inserted into the WAN and LAN card slots respectively. The modular meter based utility gateway enclosure may also support one or more interdiction cards, and may further include a tamper proof mechanism to prevent unauthorized tampering with the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5133858
Abstract: A reverse osmosis water purification apparatus includes a housing sump, a protective canister disposed within the sump, a filter assembly, an outwater conduit and a manifold disposed within the canister, a valve cap mounted atop the manifold and operably related therewith and including a mounting bracket arranged for securement to a fixed support, a top cap disposed atop the valve cap, an inlet for unfiltered water, an outlet for filtered water together with an outlet for unfiltered water mounted on the valve cap, a rotatable collar threadedly coupled with the housing sump and cooperating with the valve cap to hold the parts in assembled condition or to render the housing sump, canister, filter units, outwater conduit and the manifold separable from the valve cap and parts associated therewith so as to enable the canister and its contents to be removed and replaced with new units without requiring the services of a skilled technician.

  • Patent number: 4865816
Abstract: Odor control product dispenser includes a cabinet having a removable front cover for directly accessing both an upper fan compartment and a lower product compartment from the front. A fan in the fan compartment draws air in through a fan shroud surrounding the fan and directs the air downwardly into the product compartment for flow across an exposed surface of the odor control product in the second compartment and subsequent discharge through air vents in the front and sides of the cabinet. The odor control product is contained in a well in one end of a disposable container. Within the well are a plurality of circumferentially spaced pinwheel type baffles that increase the turbulence of the air flowing across the product as the product evaporates to accelerate the rate of evaporation as the product loses its potency (effectiveness) with age.

  • Patent number: 4565343
Abstract: A support mechanism for raising and lowering a terminal monitor comprising an upper assembly and a lower assembly and a plurality of pivotable arms interconnecting the upper assembly and lower assembly. The upper assembly includes an upper plate, which supports the monitor, and an upper slidable plate slidably coupled to it, and the lower assembly includes a base plate and a lower slidable plate slidably coupled to it. Due to the way the pivotable arms are coupled to the various plates, when the upper slidable plate is driven with respect to its associated upper plate, the arms pivot either to raise or lower the upper assembly and its monitor load with respect to the lower assembly.
