  • Publication number: 20020104533
Abstract: A breathing mask is provided for a helmet which reduces the formation of water on the lens of the eyeglasses of the wearer or on the shield of the helmet. The helmet comprises a head portion, a shield portion, and a breathing mask. The shield portion comprises a jaw shield and an eye shield. The breathing mask is hermetically adapted to the face of the wearer to evacuate the wearer's breath outside the helmet through breathing channels. The jaw shield can be pivotally opened or closed and is locked to the head portion in the closed position. The eye shield is pivotally connected to the head portion and includes a see-through shield and a tinted shield. The tinted shield can be lowered inside the helmet to protect the wearer from sun rays and reflexions.

  • Publication number: 20020020337
Abstract: The present invention provides a header for rigidly engaging an upper edge of a boat windshield and supporting a boat canopy. The header comprises an elongated member having a generally uniform transverse cross-section. The cross-section is defined by an upper rail having a convexly curved top surface and a bottom defining first and second respective sides. First and second arms protrude downwardly from the first and second sides of the upper rail. A windshield-engaging channel for receiving the boat windshield is formed between the first and second arms. A first groove is formed within the upper rail and extends inwardly from the first side of the upper rail. To reduce wear and tear on a boat canopy attached to the header, the curvature of the convexly curved top surface increases from the first side to the second side of the upper rail to maximize the load-bearing contact area between the canopy and the header.

  • Publication number: 20010047744
Abstract: The benefits of a sporty and maneuverable personal watercraft and those of a larger sport boat, having the ability to accommodate a large number of riders, are combined into a single watercraft. The watercraft is equipped with a rear sundeck large enough for passengers to sun bathe while the watercraft is stationary. Disposed beneath the sundeck are storage compartments, each having a lip-less seal for preventing the ingress of water into the compartments. Additionally, the storage compartments are large enough to store a variety of items and accessories such as food, clothes, and first-aid materials. The watercraft is designed such that a relationship between the position of its center of gravity and the position of its center of buoyancy, prevents the watercraft from tipping over even when three of four adults of average size simultaneously board the watercraft from the same side.

  • Patent number: 6276291
Abstract: An adjustable steering column for use with a personal watercraft. The adjustable steering column comprises a steering column base fixed to the watercraft, an upper steering column connected to the steering column base, the upper steering column being movable between a first position and second position, and an adjustment mechanism for moving the upper steering column between the first and second positions. Preferably, the adjustment mechanism includes a screw with a knob on one end and a ball joint on the other end. The adjustment screw is manually operable to pivot the upper steering column with respect to the steering column base.

  • Patent number: 6189753
Abstract: A carrier rack for use primarily on a watercraft. The carrier rack has a preferably two resilient, elastomeric cradles adapted to receive an object to be carried. The cradles are adapted to be mounted on an outside surface of the watercraft, most preferably the gunwales. A plurality of attachment straps are used to mount the carrier rack to the watercraft. An adjustable cradle-strap wraps around the cradle and causes the elastomeric cradle to conform partially to the shape of the object to be carried.
