  • Publication number: 20070248807
Abstract: An impact protection structure useful for protecting against an impact, includes a carbon foam having a ratio of compressive strength to density of at least about 1000 psi/(g/cc) and a internal cell structure for absorbing and dissipating the kinetic energy of an impact.

  • Publication number: 20070111072
Abstract: The invention comprises a novel method for creating an indicator fixed ion-exchange membrane, the indicator fixed ion-exchange membrane and a fuel cell testing device utilizing the novel membrane. The method for creating the indicator fixed membrane includes dissolving the indicator in a solvent, contacting an ion-exchange membrane with the indicator-solvent solution, and fixing the indicator of the combined solution and membrane to create an indicator fixed ion-exchange membrane. The claimed membrane product includes an indicator fixed ion-exchange membrane created by the above method. A fuel cell testing device using the novel membrane is both a cost efficient and effective means for determining at least one fuel cell component characteristic.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: May 17, 2007
    Inventors: Ryan Wayne, David Kaschak
  • Publication number: 20060054500
Abstract: The invention comprises novel apparatuses and testing methods for evaluating a fluid diffusion component. The apparatus includes a fluid capable of undergoing oxidation or reduction, a half-cell electrode assembly able to receive the fluid, and a change in acidity indicator in communication with the assembly. An inventive method of the invention includes the steps of passing a fluid capable of undergoing oxidation or reduction through a half-cell electrode assembly to form a sample, contacting the sample with an indicator, and detecting a change in acidity in the indicator.
