  • Patent number: 11946938
Abstract: The present disclosure demonstrates a method for predicting the risk of stroke of a subject and a method for improving the prediction accuracy of a clinical stroke risk score. The methods are based on the determination of the amount of Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and/or the amount of Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7 (IGFBP7) in a sample from a subject. Moreover, disclose is the use of i) the biomarker Ang-2 and/or the biomarker IGFBP7, and/or ii) at least one detection agent that specifically binds to Ang-2 and/or at least one detection agent that specifically binds to IGFBP7 in a sample from a subject for predicting the risk of stroke of said subject.

  • Patent number: 9814214
Abstract: A pet grooming tool formed with an elongated handle extending generally along a longitudinal axis thereof. A blade assembly pivotably connected to the guiding portions and formed with a blade and connecting arms extending outwardly on both sides of the blade. A pivotal arrangement provides pivotal motion of the blade assembly relative the handle. Upon pivotal motion of the connecting arms within the pivotal arrangement, while the connecting arms movably engage the guiding portions, the generated forces acting against ends of the arms act to return the connecting arms and the blade to their initial position along a longitudinal axis of the device.

  • Patent number: 9301500
Abstract: A method is provided for removing hair from a furry pet by a grooming tool. The tool is formed with an elongate handle portion having a neck area. A blade guiding portion is positioned at the neck area and a blade assembly is pivotably connected to the blade guiding portion. The blade assembly consists of a blade with a front part having a set of teeth. The method comprising the steps of placing the blade in engagement with the pet, so that the front part with the teeth is positioned at an acute angle to the coat; and maintaining engagement of the blade with the pet to cause the blade to glide over a contour of the pet's body to engage and pull out hair from the pet.

  • Publication number: 20130306639
Abstract: A trash receptacle assembly includes a receptacle container having an interior formed by side and bottom walls thereof. An exhaust tube fluidly communicates with the interior of the receptacle container. An air exhaust arrangement fluidly communicates with an exterior end of the exhaust tube. A portable power source electrically connected to the air exhaust arrangement. An electrical relay, timer, reversible switch, etc. can be provided to control the flow of electrical current from the power source to the air exhaust arrangement.

  • Patent number: 8418873
Abstract: A vented trash receptacle has integral or insertable elongated rectangular panels, which can be flat or convex. The panels create vertical airways along the corners or sides of the trash receptacle, such that air can enter at the top of the panel and flow down the sides of the receptacle and into the bottom below the liner bag. To prevent obstruction of the airway by the liner, the vent panel can be perforated at intervals along its length, and/or it contain a vent opening at its lower edge.

  • Publication number: 20110253723
Abstract: A composite vent has an elongated rectangular central panel with two narrower longitudinal rectangular side panels hingeably attached or detachably connected thereto, such that the side panels form a range of obtuse angles with the central panel. The reverse sides of the side panels contain one or more adhesive strips, such that the vent can be securely attached across the corner or side of a trash receptacle regardless of the size or shape of the receptacle or the angle at which the side walls of the receptacle meet to form a corner. The composite vent creates a vertical airway along the corner of side of the trash receptacle, such that air can enter at the top of the panel and flow down the sides of the receptacle and into the bottom below the liner bag. To prevent obstruction of the airway by the liner, the vent panel can be perforated at intervals along its length, and/or it contain a vent opening at its lower edge.
