  • Patent number: 7909705
Abstract: A variable mass cap 20 for a shock imparting implement grip has a butt element 22 connected to a tubular portion 24 constructed to receive a selected mass 26, 28. The tubular portion 24 fits snugly within a recess 34 of a body 32, and is retained therein by the engagement of an annular ridge 36 with a first annular groove 30 disposed in an outer surface of the tubular portion 24. In an alternate embodiment, threaded portion 31 is received by and engaged by a corresponding threaded recess 34. The cap 20 is mechanically secured to the body 32 for providing a grip with a variable mass.

  • Publication number: 20100298063
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a reminder rib on a hand grip using an improved core bar having an axial groove extending lengthwise on a molding portion of the core bar for forming a rib on an interior surface of the hand grip. When the hand grip is installed on a shaft or handle, the interior rib forms a reminder rib on an underside of the hand grip.

  • Publication number: 20100287735
Abstract: A light weight flexible hand grip and method of making with a single piece precursor grip member having a tubular sleeve portion connected with a tubular grip portion with a wall situated therebetween. An alternate embodiment includes the tubular grip portion attached proximate an open end of the tubular sleeve portion. A core portion is disposed on an outer surface of the tubular sleeve portion and the tubular grip portion is positioned back over the tubular sleeve portion securing the core portion within an annular cavity to form the light weight hand grip.

  • Publication number: 20100102479
Abstract: An improved compression molding process uses a separation plate 26 disposed between the upper and lower sections 22, 24 of a compression mold 20 for forming a grip with a distinct separation of multiple elastomeric materials. An optional compound retention plate 25 mounted on at least one of the mold sections forms a distinct color separation in the resulting grip. The optional compound retention plate 25 provides at least one groove formed in the split line of the grip that may be filled in with paint for a distinct overall two color appearance.
