Abstract: A transaction card may monitor an amount of electric current induced in a first near-field communication (NFC) component of a transaction card. Electric current may be induced in the first NFC component when the first NFC component is within an electromagnetic field generated by a second NFC component of a transaction terminal. The transaction card may dynamically activate one or more output components associated with the transaction card based on the amount of electric current induced in the first NFC component. The one or more output components may indicate whether the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal. The transaction card may perform an action related to completing a transaction after determining that the amount of electric current induced in the NFC component satisfies a first threshold. The first threshold may indicate that the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal.

Abstract: A processor may be coupled to a flash memory by way of an interface. The processor may be caused to read and/or write data, such as computer executable instructions, from/to the flash memory via the interface. An interface filter may be interposed between the processor and the flash memory to enhance the security and validity of data transactions associated with the processor and the flash memory.

Abstract: A restaurant exhaust gas purifying system for filtering an exhaust gas of a cooking process including an exhaust vent and an exhaust gas purifier coupled to the exhaust vent. The exhaust gas purifier includes a housing which has an inlet connected to the exhaust vent and an outlet, a hot box connected to and housed within the housing, a heating device connected to the housing and configured for heating the hot box, and a rotating filter rotatably mounted to and housed within the housing. The rotating filter has a rotational cycle in which at least a portion of the rotating filter passes through the hot box. The exhaust gas purifier also includes a drive connected to the housing and operably coupled to the rotating filter for rotating the rotating filter, and a stationary filter positioned in the hot box.

Abstract: A switch mechanism actuates an electrically adjustable screen mount. The switch mechanism allows a user to select between a first automatic operation for stowing and deployment of the display screen (6), and a second, user adjustable operation for adjustment of the deployed position of the display screen (6), in order to tilt the screen back and forth. The adjustment back and forth may be accompanied by a movement upward or downward, with an upward movement when the top of the screen tilts away from the user, and downward movement when the top of the screen tilts towards the user. This can compensate for tilting of the surface to which the screen mount is attached, such as a seat-back.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method is provided to connect precast concrete panels to a structural member. The connector can have a receiving member embedded in a precast concrete panel and can further have an attachment member that selectively interconnects to the receiving member. This attachment member can have a surface that is oriented substantially perpendicular to the precast concrete panel and that receives or supports a structural member such as a floor joist or a second precast concrete panel. The configuration of a protrusion of the attachment member allows for a rapid and secure interconnection with an aperture in the receiving member. A builder can use the connector system described herein to rapidly and securely assemble multiple precast concrete panels to structural members in the construction of, for example, a parking garage or other similar structure.

The device may process the measurement data to determine one or more printing anomalies relating to one or more physical elements, of the plurality of physical elements, and one or more physical attributes of the plurality of different physical attributes. The device may generate a set of instructions to permit the 3D printer to be adjusted to address the one or more printing anomalies, and may cause an action to be performed based on generating the set of instructions.

Abstract: An automated teller machine (ATM) system may include an instrument storage and dispensing device configured to store and provide instruments, and a plurality of ATM head units. Each ATM head unit may be configured to interact with users to facilitate ATM-based transactions. The ATM system may include a transfer device configured to interface the instrument storage and dispensing device with each ATM head unit. The ATM system may cause the transfer device to obtain one or more instruments from the instrument storage and dispensing device based on user inputs received at one or more ATM head units, and cause the transfer device to deliver the one or more instruments to the one or more ATM head units after obtaining the one or more instruments.

Abstract: Embodiments enable a displayed webpage containing sensitive information to be accurately and efficiently sanitized. The sensitive information is contained within a text string of the webpage and displayed using a font specified in a style sheet. The text string that is to be sanitized is determined based on a tag for sanitization associated with the text string. When the tag is determined, the text string is rendered using a font from the style sheet that is not legible. Upon rendering, the text string of the webpage is redisplayed using the non-legible font, which effectively sanitizes the text string containing the sensitive information.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program for implementing fine-grained access control (FGAC) of data stored in a dataset. In response to receiving a data query statement from a user, any representational index exclusions that are relevant to the data query statement are identified, wherein each index exclusion specifies an access restriction to the data. It is then determined whether any of the identified representational index exclusions are to be applied to the data query statement, and if ‘yes’ then the data query statement is modified before being processed, so that processing of the query takes place by searching the dataset under restriction of the representational index exclusions. The proposed approach allows for easy creation and modification of FGAC privacy rules without introducing performance gaps in processing the data query statements.
