Abstract: A communications device (100) for remotely controlling an electrical device (690) can include: (a) a transmitter (220) for transmitting electrical signals; (b) a casing (110) having a first surface (129) in a first plane, and mechanically coupled to the transmitter; and (c) a user control mechanism (160) with an outer surface (161) and electrically coupled to the transmitter with the outer surface of the user control mechanism projecting out of the first plane. The casing and the transmitter are configured to be coupled to an upper arm of a user. The user control mechanism and the casing are flexible.

Abstract: A cord management device comprises a body (110) having a first end (111), a second end (112), a perimeter (113), and an interior (114) bounded by the perimeter. A cord (210) that is to be managed may be wrapped around the body of the cord management device in such a way as to control a length of a portion (211, 212) of the cord that is able to hang freely, thus protecting the entire cord. The cord management device further comprises an aperture (120) spaced apart from the perimeter and extending through the interior of the body, and still further comprises a recess (140) in the interior of the body capable of receiving and storing an object (410) attached to the cord. A cord management system including the cord management device is also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting data and a reusable structure for holding a data transmission unit such as a computer cable and a number of adapter tips configured to attach to different plug types. The cable may be wound around the structure, and the tips may be stored in recesses in the structure having at least three sides and at least one opening. The recesses may be parallel and the tips may be held in place with an interference or snap fit. The unit and tips may be held at least partially external to the structure, which may be a monolithic plastic body. Opposing substantially concave surfaces may be provided on opposite ends upon which to wind the cable. A method of providing cable connections includes providing the structure and teaching to wind the cable around the structure and to hold the tips at least partially within the structure.
