Abstract: A purchase request system efficiently procures goods and services by recognizing purchase authority levels of users within an enterprise, division, or project team. Administrators establish authority levels to ensure that purchase requests within a user's authority level are automatically processed and submitted to vendors for fulfillment of orders, while purchase requests beyond a user's authority level are routed according to a determined protocol. Determined protocols include routing the purchase request to a designated user with a different authority level for disposition, rejection of the purchase request, or modification of the purchase request in accordance with the determined protocol. Users may select from multiple payment methods to complete a purchase transaction and may access the purchasing system in real time to determine the status of an order at any point in the life cycle of the purchase request, from submission of the request to payment for received goods and services.

Abstract: A method, device, and system for in-room wine purchasing and/or dispensing. More specifically, the collaboration of one or more wine dispensing devices, a wine dispensing platform, a property management system, and third-party systems to enable, support, and capitalize on the provision of wine within lodging environments. Mechanisms for enforcing alcohol-related policies and/or regulations maintained by a geographic locality as well as for preventing the consumption of wine by underage or property staff members are also discussed.

Abstract: A method, computer readable medium and system for user load balancing includes identifying when an overall load in at least one of two or more servers exceeds one or more thresholds that are related to one or more user loads. One or more of the user loads in the identified overall load in one of the servers are transferred to one or more of the other servers when the one or more thresholds is exceeded.

Abstract: An e-commerce system offering retail, instant buy, and auction sales models automatically moves items for sale between the sales models according to seller-defined criteria, such as elasticity of demand, cash generation, time in sales model, and quantity in sales model. The retail sales model includes a virtual storefront creation tool with which sellers can create and customize their own virtual storefronts. The system lists items offered for sale in the retail and instant buy sales models by sellers with virtual storefronts in the sellers' storefronts.

A determination on when to at least one of increase capacity in at least one of the servers systems and add one or more additional server systems is made based on the monitoring and the trending.

Abstract: A secure file transfer system which, in its preferred embodiments, uses a Java applet sent to a client computer from a server computer to double encrypt files sent from the client computer to the server computer. Once a file is sent to the server, the system notifies a recipient that a secure document awaits pickup. The system preferably uses a public shared key agreement scheme for one method of encryption and an elliptical encryption scheme for the other. The applet comes to the client computer with a shared secret key for the public key scheme and all parameters required for the elliptical encryption scheme. Upon receiving a request for secure transfer, the server sends the applet with the encryption parameters to the client machine, which must be running a client-side application or a Java-enabled browser. The applet prompts the user for the file to be transferred and encrypts the file with the elliptical encryption method.

Abstract: A communication system enters information into enabled fields of a hypertext based page when a hot-linked identifier is activated by a user. The preferred implementation fills in recipient information when a sender clicks on a hot-linked contact name. The click calls a JavaScript that searches for enabled fields and fills in recipient information from a contact database when it finds an enabled field. The recipient could be defined by an e-mail address, a user name, or other unique identifier, and the information being transmitted to the recipient can be e-mail messages, data files, another user's data, and other types of information that can be transmitted electronically. The preferred implementation resides on a Web server hosting a service to which users can subscribe, at which point the users acquire member status and member names. The members can create contact databases that the system presents in a contacts frame when the member views pages on which the contact information can be used.
