Abstract: A device-based network service provisioning model is provided in which a wireless device facilitates a subscriber to provide provisioning information for activating carrier, value-added or other service provider services automatically. The model facilitates subscriber control while balancing service provider needs. Provisioning components may be provided to a device during a provisioning session to maintain service provider branding, look and feel and other control over a subscriber's experience. Provisioning components may be dynamically generated to capture current services, subscriber plans and particular device criteria. In one embodiment, service provider-side components define a service-oriented interface (e.g. Web services) for receiving a subscriber's provisioning information. Device-side components define an interface to request and receive the provisioning components and to provide provisioning information to the service-oriented interface.

Abstract: A system for providing media content, including at least one media server, at least one database connected to the at least one media server, each database configured to store a plurality of media content, and at least one device configured for data communication with the at least one media server, each device associated with at least one user. Each media server is configured to determine a relevance between each particular media content and each particular user, and based on each relevance, determine whether to provide that particular media content to the device associated with that particular user.

Abstract: A system for provisioning an associated service for a device is described. The associated service allows a user to access a primary service and, optionally, one or more additional services through a mobile handheld device. The associated service is provisioned entirely through the handheld device. A system for provisioning the associated service receives provisioning requests from the device and creates and configures the associated service and, if needed, the primary service. The primary and additional services may be e-mail services, calendar services, contact management services or other data services. The associated service may be used simultaneously with different types of primary and additional services.
