  • Patent number: 7373403
Abstract: A system to collect heterogeneous scalar measurement data over a network from a plurality of devices connected to the network, and normalize the collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data based on a mathematical transform of collected scalar measurement data into a common mathematical space. The transformed scalar measurement data is displayed in graphical representations such that transformed scalar measurement data from a particular network device can be displayed alongside a graphical representation of a transformed scalar measurement data from a different particular network device. Thus, transformed scalar measurement data from different heterogeneous network devices can be aggregated and displayed in the same graphical representation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 22, 2002
Date of Patent: May 13, 2008
    Assignee: Agilent Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Robert H. Kroboth, David L. Barnard
  • Patent number: 7231555
Abstract: A Network Troubleshooting Center NTC that performs orchestrated tests composed of heterogeneous measurements. The system within the NTC includes architecture to manage tests in accordance with requirements imposed by data provided. The NTC includes the operations of defining the test to be performed, configuring the settings according to the protocols used to provide data, locking specific resources dedicated to the particular test being performed, and running the tests on heterogeneous measurements in an orchestrated manner to provide a spectrum of results so that troubleshooting of the heterogeneous results can be performed at any desired level and summarized together.

  • Patent number: 6810367
Abstract: A system is disclosed that collects heterogeneous scalar measurement data over a network from a plurality of devices connected to the network, and automatically normalizes the collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data based on a threshold to generate an event based on a threshold crossing. In an embodiment, the system automatically derives a measurement from the collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data; and automatically scales the derived measurement or the collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data. In another embodiment, the system normalizes the collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data, the scaled derived measurement, the scaled collected heterogeneous scalar measurement data, or the derived measurement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2002
Date of Patent: October 26, 2004
