Abstract: A free float modular handguard is provided. The handguard includes a mounting adapter having an aperture and a barrel nut having an aperture. The barrel nut couples the mounting adapter to an upper receiver of a firearm through the aperture of the mounting adapter. The aperture of the barrel nut receives a barrel therethrough. The handguard also includes a support member having an aperture. The support member is aligned with the aperture of the barrel nut, wherein the aperture of the support member receives the barrel therethrough. The handguard also includes a top member, a bottom member, a first side member, and a second side member, wherein the top member, bottom member, first side member and second side member are each coupled on one end to the mounting adapter coupled on the other end the support member. This creates the free float modular handguard.

Abstract: A magazine well formed in a lower receiver of a firearm is provided. The firearm may be a rifle and particularly a tactical rifle such as, but not limited to an AR-15. The magazine well accepts more than one type of magazine. Each type of magazine operates to hold a size of ammunition that differs from the other magazines. This allows users to shoot varying sized or caliber ammunition from the same firearm by simply changing the magazine that is loaded with varying size or caliber ammunition.

Abstract: A dual upper receiver for use with a firearm is provided. The dual upper receiver includes a first receiver portion; and a second receiver portion coupled to the first receiver portion. The first receiver portion is configured to couple to a first barrel, a first lower receiver and a first buttstock. The second receiver portion is configured to couple to a second barrel, a second lower receiver and a second buttstock. In embodiments, the dual upper receiver is formed as a unitary body. The dual upper receiver as a unitary body may include the first receiver portion and the second receiver portion are formed from a same piece of material.

Abstract: A bolt action upper receiver for use with a firearm is provided. The bolt action upper receiver includes a body portion having an aperture extending from the front end through the back end of the body portion; an opening on a bottom surface of the body portion. The opening allows for a bolt and bolt carrier to be operatively coupled within the body portion and further the opening allows for a projectile to be loaded within the upper receiver in response to operating a bolt action of the upper receiver. The body portion may be removably coupled to a lower receiver through a two pin connection. The lower receiver may include a recess, wherein the recess receives a protrusion coupled to a receiver end plate to eliminate or reduce turning of the stock. The upper receiver further comprises an attachment device for coupling a stock directly to the upper receiver.

An inlet passage extends through the tube portion and an outlet passage angled from the inlet passage exits through the base portion. The adjustable gas key includes an inner volume located at a junction of the inlet passage and the outlet passage. The adjustable gas key also includes an adjustment device operatively coupled to the adjustable gas key, wherein the adjustment device adjusts a size of the inner volume. The adjustable gas key is integral and unitary with a bolt carrier of the firearm, wherein adjustment of the size of the inner volume adjusts the force of action of the bolt carrier.
