  • Patent number: 4201056
Abstract: A brake bleeder adapter, for use with automotive brake system master cylinders having reservoirs which should not be subjected to clamping and/or bleeding pressures as was done according to prior methods of brake bleeding, connects the hydraulic brake system of the automobile to a supply of pressurized brake fluid without subjecting the reservoir to such pressures during the process of bleeding the brakes. When securing this adapter to the brake system, the master cylinder fluid reservoir is essentially by-passed and the adapter is connected directly to the master cylinder. Entrained air within the replacement brake fluid is effectively prevented from entering the brake system by either releasing such air from the fluid or confining it to the fluid remaining in the adapter thus reducing the time needed to complete the bleeding process.

  • Patent number: 4118851
Abstract: Relates to tools or fixtures for removing press fit piston pins from automobile engine pistons for repair or replacement and for installing repaired or new pins in pistons. More specifically, the invention accomplishes these operations without imposing any load on the piston, thus eliminating the possibility of deforming or otherwise damaging the softer piston. To this end, one of the supporting structures of the tool is shaped in a special way to be received within the skirt of the piston and underlay the smaller end of the connecting rod thereby to receive the driving forces applied to advance a piston pin through the bore of the connecting rod for the purpose of either removing the pin or installing the repaired pin or its replacement.

  • Patent number: 3941172
Abstract: Catalytic converter emptying and filling device attachable to the housing of a catalytic converter containing a bed for storing catalytic pellets. In such a converter the housing is formed of inner and outer walls separated slightly from one another to form a space therebetween which is filled with heat insulating material. The inner and outer walls of the housing each have a port registering with the other port for emptying and filling the bed of the converter. The changer device includes a rigid conduit or pipe connectible to the port for passing the pellets to a receptacle or canister rigidly attached to the pipe for receiving the pellets from the converter and further including a vibrating instrumentality rigidly attached to the device for imparting vibrational turbulence to the rigid assembly making up the device.
