  • Patent number: 5672814
Abstract: An improved soil analysis is provided which provides accurate data representative of actual physical conditions of the soil. Preferably, the method involves first obtaining a core sample of soil having an essentially undisturbed naturally occurring compaction and stratification and subjecting at least a portion of this undisturbed core sample to one or more physical tests such as water permeability, water holding capacity and porosity tests. Thereafter, the sample portion is divided into vertically aligned strata and the latter are individually tested for organic content, silt and clay content and sand content.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 1996
Date of Patent: September 30, 1997
    Inventor: David L. Doherty
