  • Publication number: 20030000846
Abstract: The present invention discloses compositions for increasing the adhesion of a layer of silver deposited from an immersion plating bath as well as methods of increasing the adhesion of silver layers obtained using these compositions. Such compositions and methods are particularly useful in the manufacture of electronic devices.

  • Publication number: 20020074244
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for determining the quantity of leveler in an electroplating bath in the presence of other organic additives, such as accelerators, brighteners and suppressors. Such methods are fast, work over a broad concentration range of components and can be performed in real-time.

  • Patent number: 5353901
Abstract: Size problems and large power requirements for operating a no-back are avoided in a pilot operated no-back including a housing (10) journaling input and output shafts (12, 18). A brake disc pack (32) is disposed within the housing (10) and is compressible to prevent rotation of the output shaft (18). A ball ramp mechanism (24) has a rotary input plate (26) and a rotary output plate (28), the latter being axially movable to compress the brake disc pack (32). A selectively operable electric pilot brake (70) is provided to retard rotation of the output plate (28) but allow motion via opposing load if disengaged.

  • Patent number: 5133440
Abstract: A rotary stop mechanism (10) in accordance with the invention stops rotation of a shaft (12) at a fixed angular position in response to relative rotation of first and second gears (14, 16) on the shaft through a fixed angle which causes a stop pin (26) to project axially from one of the gears to engage a stop (32) when the relative angular rotation occurs by utilizing a control track (34) having a section (48) varying in axial position with respect to the axis of rotation to cause the stop pin to project axially to a position at which the stop pin hits the stop when the gear carrying the stop pin rotates to a fixed angular position.

  • Patent number: 5042749
Abstract: A mechanism (10) for limiting rotation of a rotatably mounted first shaft (12) in accordance with the invention includes a housing (28) in which the first shaft is rotatably supported; a torque input (14) coupled to the first shaft; and a torque output (18) coupled to the first shaft; a second shaft (30) rotatably supported by the housing and movable between a first axial position in which the second shaft does not engage the first shaft and a second axial position in which the second shaft engages the first shaft; at least one member (32) attached to the second shaft which projects radially from the second shaft; and the housing having an inner cavity (42) with at least one surface (70) which engages the at least one member which projects radially at first and second angular positions of the shafts to provide for a limited degree of angular rotation of the shafts when the second shaft is in the second axial position.

  • Patent number: 4915200
Abstract: In a jet aircraft having a drive which rotatably drives an airframe mounted accessory drive (12), a system for controlling the connection of the drive to the airframe mounted accessory drive is disclosed which permits the manual connection and disconnection of a rotatable shaft (18) from a driven shaft (22) with high reliability by a manually movable handle (30) which is connected to a fork (88) which is rotatable between first and second positions which translates a movable carrier (20) which carries the driven shaft between first and second positions. The system has minimal backlash which insures high integrity in sensed positions of the system which is necessary for safe operation of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 4732236
Abstract: A liquid scavenging pump system for scavenging oil or the like from a blower, an engine or the like. A casing is provided for housing the blower and defining an oil receiving cavity. A dual pump is mounted in the casing and has first and second pumps in communication with the casing cavity for conjoint rotation. A first inlet is provided from the casing cavity to the first pump, and a first outlet is provided from the first pump for delivering oil from the cavity to a pump or the like. A second inlet is provided from the casing cavity, remote from the first inlet, to the second pump. The second outlet from the second pump is in communication with the first inlet to the first pump to facilitate operating the pump at various attitudes. The dual pump is of the radial-vaned impeller type, but includes two sets of axially spaced impeller vanes separated by a common barrier and including a sleeve for mounting on a common drive shaft.
