  • Publication number: 20090299372
Abstract: The invention is directed toward a surgical kit having component parts capable of use to prepare a cartilage implant plug from allograft condyle. The kit comprises a sizing gauge used to measure surface of the allograft condyle so that a cartilage implant plug can be removed that corresponds to the contours of the defect site excised on a patient. An adjustable guide member is mounted in a fixed orientation over the allograft condyle in which a cylindrical graft cutter for cutting a cylindrical allograft bone plug having a cartilage cap and a bone end portion. A chamfering tool is used for chamfering the bone end of the allograft bone plug.

  • Patent number: 6988590
Abstract: A modular oil delivery system has a mount with at least one passage, a flange and a body depending from the flange. A mounting bracket is carried by the mount to support an oil pump having an oil outlet in fluid communication with at least one passage in the mount. A float arm is pivotally supported relative to the mounting bracket and is constructed and arranged to be responsive to the level of the oil in the reservoir. An oil pressure sensor is supported by either the mounting bracket, the body, or the flange. The oil pressure sensor is in fluid communication with at least one passage in the mount and with the oil outlet of the oil pump to monitor the pressure of oil discharged from the oil pump.

  • Patent number: 6581579
Abstract: A fuel pump assembly for use with a fuel injected combustion engine has a liquid cooled vapor separator from which conditioned fuel is drawn by a high pressure fuel pump. The vapor separator has an internal heat conductive sleeve which defines a fuel chamber or reservoir. A coolant chamber surrounds the heat conducting sleeve and is carried laterally between an exterior housing of the fuel pump assembly and the internal sleeve. A coiled baffle disposed within the coolant chamber forms a coolant channel which spirals about the sleeve. The channel has a first end which communicates with a coolant passage inlet and an opposing second end which communicates with a coolant passage outlet carried by the housing. The introduction of the baffle, therefore the channeling of coolant flow through the spiraling channel, improves the fuel cooling efficiency of the vapor separator by eliminating hot spots created by stagnate or non-flowing coolant areas within the coolant chamber.

  • Patent number: 6289634
Abstract: A crossing guard is disclosed which comprises an operator positioned on one side of a thoroughfare for raising and lowering an arm, a gate connected to the arm, a first lock positioned on the opposite side of the thoroughfare, a plurality of cables supported within the gate, joined together at fixed points intermediate the ends of the cables, and a first end assembly connectable with the cables and the gate at the end of the gate opposite the operator with the first end assembly engagable with the first lock. The device further comprises a second lock positioned on the side of the thoroughfare nearer said operator engagable with a second end assembly positioned on the end of the gate nearer said operator.

  • Patent number: 5634525
Abstract: A rear hinged pivotable hood for enclosing a tractor engine is disclosed wherein a hinge member pivotally mounts the hood to the tractor chassis for movement about a generally horizontal, transverse hinge access between a closed position in which the engine is inaccessibly covered and an opened position in which the engine is accessible. The engine hood includes a primary hood member that is pivotally movable about the hinge axis and a fixed portion that includes a pair of laterally spaced daily access doors pivotally mounted for outward movement to gain access to preselected frequently accessed service components of the engine. The lateral width of the primary hood member is substantially greater that the lateral spacing of the daily access doors so that the operator may have greater visibility of the position where said front tires engage the ground.

  • Patent number: 5564514
Abstract: A pivotally mounted hood for a tractor is disclosed wherein a gas spring, provided to offset the weight of the hood to facilitate the movement of the hood between opened and closed positions, is mounted to the chassis via a multi-position bracket having more than one hole therein for the selective connection of the gas spring. The bracket holes are arranged in a configuration defining a progressively increasing distance from the pivot connecting the hood to the chassis, thereby providing alternative mounting positions for the gas spring which have different moment arms for the application of the force exerted by the gas spring about the hood pivot. The gas spring can be remounted to a hole providing a larger moment arm relative to the hood pivot as the gas spring weakens over time due to the loss of gas therefrom, which enables the effective spring force offsetting at least a portion of the weight of the hood to remain substantially constant even though the gas spring weakens.

  • Patent number: 4272339
Abstract: An electrowinning process for the recovery of various metals including copper, zinc and nickel from an aqueous electrolyte in an electrolytic cell containing anodes and cathodes is disclosed wherein the anodes are formed from a lead alloy containing from about 0.05% to about 0.25% by weight strontium. The lead alloy for the anodes also preferably includes from about 0.005% to about 0.1% by weight aluminum alone or in further combination with either about 0.1% to about 5.0% by weight tin or at least 0.01% by weight silver, the lead alloy anodes having a hard, adherent oxide surface layer preferably formed in situ within the electrolytic cell.
