  • Patent number: 8598456
Abstract: A cover assembly includes a base, a cover and a hinge coupling the cover to the hinge. The hinge includes a body coupled to a rear face of the base and extends outwardly from a side edge of the base. The hinge has a leg oriented to contact an edge of the cover when the cover is pivoted to the open position. The edge frictionally engages the leg of the hinge to hold the cover in an open position and limit rotation of the cover.

  • Patent number: 6506973
Abstract: A pole for supplying power and communications including an elongated body that slidably receives an adjustment member. The pole body has an inner compartment receiving power and communications wiring therein and a barrier member defining first and second channels within the inner compartment. The adjustment member is received in the inner compartment of the elongated body, and defines a longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the elongated body. Also, the adjustment member has a first securing interface corresponding to a securing element of pole body when the adjustment member is in a first position with respect to the elongated body.

  • Patent number: 6483027
Abstract: A self-adjusting end cap for capping an object having an opening. The end cap includes a base that has an inner and an outer surface, at least one post connected to the base inner surface, and at least one rib extending outwardly from the post. The rib is adapted to fit in a channel in an opening of an object to be capped. When the end cap and object are aligned for connection, the rib extends beyond an inner wall of the channel. A portion of the rib is sheared off by the inner wall of the channel upon insertion of the post and rib in the channel, thereby positioning the end cap within the object. The posts in combination with the ribs create a precise and tight friction fit between the end cap and the object. Preferably, the end cap has two posts, each with a rib extending outwardly therefrom, and the object has two channels, each having an inner wall. The outer edges of the ribs are separated by a first distance, and the channels are separated by a second distance.

  • Patent number: 5777266
Abstract: A modular cable protection system which is intended to protect electrical cables, fluid hoses and data cables from externally caused physical or mechanical damage. The modular protective components may be detachably interlocked with other structural components so as to form a suitably sized cable protection system. The components may be constituted of molded plastic material of high rigidity and strength, and are adapted to be selectively joined to other components as required to provide the necessary protective array in a simply assembled and decorative manner which not only fulfills the desired protective tasks but which is also authentically pleasing in appearance.

  • Patent number: 5641305
Abstract: An electrical device in the form of an electrical connector includes a main body having an axial passage for receiving an electrical cord and a fixed jaw extending from the upper face of the main body. A movable jaw is connected to the fixed jaw by a plurality of screws for applying clamping forces to an electrical cord between the jaws. A movable clamping device is carried by either the fixed or movable jaw and is axially and rotationally movable from a first retracted position to an extended position into the passage between the jaw. Movement of the movable clamping device enables the connector to clamp different size electrical cords.

  • Patent number: 4919076
Abstract: A reusable evaporation fixture for aligning a plurality of small individual substrates to a single contact mask is described. The fixture preferably includes a series of thin inner plates held together by a base plate and top plate. One of the inner plates includes a plurality of spring means corresponding to the plurality of individual substrates to be masked. Each spring means forces individual substrate against the contact mask to prevent haloing of the deposition pattern. Another of the inner plates has a plurality of pockets and spring means within those pockets which force the individual substrates against the alignment faces of the pockets, to align and secure the individual substrates in the X-Y plane. Once the individual substrates have been placed in the pockets provided by the inner plates, the contact mask is placed over the inner plates, and a top plate is placed over the entire assembly.

  • Patent number: 4674807
Abstract: An electrical connector has an electrically non-conductive outer housing and connector members recessed in one end of the housing. Electromagnetic interference shielding is provided by members surrounding the components within the housing including an electrically conductive grommet circularly contacting conductive braid on the cable to which the connector is attached and a sleeve which surrounds the wires within the housing and extends axially to the connector end. One of the connector prongs is designated as the ground prong and is electrically attached to the sleeve. Embodiments accommodating three and four wires are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4632491
Abstract: A wire retaining assembly for use with an electrical device such as a switch or receptacle. The assembly comprises an anchoring bore and a guide slot formed in a wall adjacent each terminal screw to retain the exposed wire on an electrical conductor. By initially locating the end of the exposed wire in the anchoring bore, then bending the wire around the screw shank and locating the other end of the wire in the guide slot, electrical connection to the device is more quickly and securely accomplished. The bore and slot are substantially parallel and have portions with substantially coplanar bottom surfaces so that the bent wire lies in substantially a single plane.
