  • Patent number: 7247101
Abstract: An apparatus for billiards practice, comprising a housing; an emitter connectively disposed to the housing; a pair of detectors equally spaced about the emitter; a controller having logic controlling the emitter; at least one indicator in communication with the logic; the logic receiving at least one signal from the detectors via the emitter projecting the signal onto the surface of the billiards ball; the logic resolving the position of the billiards ball with respect to the emitter in concert with the detectors; and a response to the logic resolved position of the billiards ball via the indicator. The player's instant feedback is implemented via a controller disposed within the billiards practice device. The controller has means to emit infrared signals and capture the return reflected infrared signal from the cue ball. The returned infrared signals are interpreted and processed via the controller.

  • Patent number: 5199687
Abstract: Generally there is provide herein a manually operated jack for lifting a platform within a railroad car. The device employs a two part telescoping support with a lever member pivotally connected to the lower part. One end of the lever extends for manual operation and the other end is connected to the upper part of the support by a link.

  • Patent number: 5048076
Abstract: Automated telephone attendant equipment involving a technique for connecting an incoming call on an external line to one out of a plurality of telephone devices. Each telephone device is connected in an internal line branching off from the external line. A main control box is placed in an internal line. After it senses a ring on the external line, it processes an incoming identification signal, such as is characteristic of a facsimile transmission, for example, which contains information as to which particular telephone device is to be accessed. The main control box then generates a ringback signal which not only notifies the caller that the extension desired is ringing, as is conventional, but also contains a coded signal unique to the telephone device of interest. A local control box is provided in each internal line to normally block signals from passing to the telephone device from the external line.

  • Patent number: 4718875
Abstract: A toy vehicle having wheels which may be folded to a horizontal position under the vehicle by squeezing a hand grip. Two elongated axle members are rotatably engaged to the sides of the vehicle. The wheels are rotatably mounted on front and rear axles attached to the elongated axle members. A pivot plate is rotatably mounted to the bottom of the toy vehicle. When the hand grip is squeezed, a link connected to a trigger member causes the plate to rotate. The rotating plate then causes two slotted links to rotate the elongated axle members. As a result, the wheels mounted on the axle members also rotate until they reach a substantially horizontal position under the vehicle. The wheels remain in this folded position until the hand grip is released. When the grip is released, springs return the wheels to a vertical position. The slotted links are designed to allow the wheels at just one side of the toy vehicle to be folded.

  • Patent number: 4029817
Abstract: A composition useful in sterilizing soft contact lenses comprising an effective non-toxic amount of a quaternary ammonium compound, such as alkyl (tallow) triethanol ammonium chloride, and an effective detoxifying amount of a polymer such as water soluble polyhydroxyethyl methacrylate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters such as Polysorbate 80, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyoxyethylene alcohols such as polyoxyethylene (20) cetyl ether and mixtures thereof.
