  • Patent number: 11932859
Abstract: Methods are provided herein for assembling at least two nucleic acids using a sequence specific nuclease agent (e.g., a gRNA-Cas complex) to create end sequences having complementarity and subsequently assembling the overlapping complementary sequences. The nuclease agent (e.g., a gRNA-Cas complex) can create double strand breaks in dsDNA in order to create overlapping end sequences or can create nicks on each strand to produce complementary overhanging end sequences. Assembly using the method described herein can assemble any nucleic acids having overlapping sequences or can use a joiner oligo to assemble sequences without complementary ends.

  • Patent number: 7629799
Abstract: A system for measuring nip width for a nip present between two rolls includes: (a) a sensor assembly; (b) a resistance-measuring unit that measures an electrical resistance; (c) first and second leads, the first lead being connected to a first strip of the sensor assembly adjacent a first end of the first strip, the second lead being connected to a second strip of the sensor assembly; and (d) a controller operatively associated with the resistance-measuring unit, the controller including computer readable program code, the code including a plurality of data sets, each of the data sets representing a relationship between resistance of a sensor and environmental temperature.

  • Patent number: 5876359
Abstract: A controller for applying sequential compression to a patient's limb includes a variable speed motor connected to a rotary vane pump, and an electronic control circuit to drive the motor at a speed which will in turn drive the pump at a corresponding speed to provide intended output pressure. The controller provides automatic regulation of preset pressure and operates in a fully automatic manner. The controller is contained within a compact housing which can be floor or bed mounted and which has an output connector integral with a unitary manifold assembly for coupling to a tubing set by which sequentially pressurized air is directed to respective compartments of one or more compression sleeves disposed about a patient's limbs.

  • Patent number: 5104708
Abstract: An improved wood patch, in combination with a slot formed in a blemished wooden surface, and apparatus and method of manufacture thereof. The improved wood patch has, where the wooden surface to be repaired is horizontal, three faces: a flat horizontal exterior face, a flat vertical interior face, and an angled arcuate interior face. The patch has both a larger vertical radius of curvature and a larger angle between the flat vertical interior face and the angled arcuate interior face than the slot. Apparatus for manufacture includes a router utilizing a double router bit having a straight cutting edge oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the bit and an angled cutting edge oriented at an angle to the straight cutting edge.
