  • Patent number: 10480605
Abstract: A shock absorber including a cylinder having a first chamber and a second chamber where at least one of the first chamber and the second chamber includes a fluid. A piston is configured for reciprocal movement within the cylinder and defines at least one through-hole for enabling the fluid to move between the first and second chambers. A floating disc and a floating retainer are each movably connected to the piston, the floating disc and the floating retainer defining a space between the floating disc and the floating retainer, the space having a cross-sectional area. A seal element is seated in the space and has a cross-sectional area equal to the cross-sectional area of the space where an entire surface of the seal element engages and forms a seal with an inner wall of the cylinder during the reciprocal movement of the piston.

  • Patent number: 5857386
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly (10 and 110) comprising a flexible motion transmitting core element for transmitting motion and a conduit for movably supporting said core element along a longitudinal axis. An adjustment means allows a change in the length of one of the core element and the conduit along the longitudinal axis thereof. The assembly is characterized by the adjustment means including a support member (26, 126) and a rotary member (30) supported by the support member (26, 126) at a support axis for rotation about the support axis in response to the change in the length to thereby minimize the longitudinal length of the adjustment means. A spring (32) interacts between the support member (26, 126) and the rotary member (30) for resisting the rotation of the rotary member (30) relative to the support member (26, 126). A cam element (34) coacts with a cam surface (36) in the rotary member (30) for rotating the rotary member (30) in response to the change in the length.

  • Patent number: 5167166
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly (10) of the type for transmitting motion along a curved path by a flexible motion transmitting core element (12) movably supported within a flexible conduit (14). The assembly (10) includes an adjustment member (18) for adjusting the length of the core element (12). The adjustment member (18) includes a housing (20) having a slot (26) therein and a further includes a rack (28) movably disposed in the slot (26). A lockable roller (40) having a periphery (42) tangentially in rolling engagement with the rack (28) interconnects the housing (20) and rack (28). A lock member (48) is movably engageable with the rack (28) or roller (40) for preventing movement therebetween thereby locking the roller (40) in a selected position along the rack (28) to maintain an adjusted core element (12) length.
