  • Publication number: 20240035768
Abstract: Disclosed is an extractor for an autoloading firearm, the extractor having an extractor body extending a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. A knuckle is between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion and defines a pin opening extending crosswise through the extractor, where the pin opening has an elongated shape. During rearward movement of the bolt after firing, the elongated opening enables the extractor to shift downward and/or forward so that part of the extractor contacts the bolt, thereby preventing the extractor from pivoting about the extractor pin.

  • Patent number: 7762174
Abstract: A linkless ammunition feed system for a firearm. The ammunition feed system has an ammunition container with a path for holding a plurality ammunition rounds in a single file manner and an exit for passing the ammunition rounds out of the container. A pusher is positioned in and adapted to freely slide through the ammunition path, the plurality of ammunition rounds being positioned between the exit and the pusher, the pusher adapted to push the ammunition toward the exit. The pusher is pulled through the ammunition path by a feed line connected to the pusher and extending through the ammunition path. A rotatable feed line spool collects the feed line at the container exit, and a feed sprocket rotates to move an ammunition round from the container exit to a firearm associated with the ammunition feed system.

  • Patent number: 7717024
Abstract: A recoil-operated, impulse averaging, air-cooled, magazine-fed, automatic weapon. An operating group of the weapon includes a chamber, a bolt, a barrel extension and one or more toggles. The recoil action of the weapon from firing a first round drives the toggles in a motion constrained by a cam way. The toggles then drive the chamber in a linear reciprocating motion ejecting a first round and over-riding the next round. An impulse averaging system controls the speed of the recoil.

  • Patent number: 6343536
Abstract: An automatic projectile firing weapon and a related method for absorbing the recoil force of an automatic projectile firing weapon are disclosed. The weapon includes a barrel assembly that is slidably mounted in a receiver, biased by an operating spring, and engageable with a main sear. A gas operated bolt assembly is slidably mounted within the barrel assembly and is driven by a bolt spring. A trigger is provided to release the main sear and allow the operating spring to move the barrel assembly forwardly in the receiver. There is further provided a buffer connected between the receiver and the barrel assembly to dampen the velocity of the barrel assembly to ensure the barrel assembly is moving at a predetermined maximum velocity when a round is fired at a predetermined firing position. The recoil energy from the fired round is absorbed mainly by the forward motion of the barrel assembly and in part by the operating spring and buffer.

  • Patent number: 5409170
Abstract: An impaction classifier is provided for generating submicron sized liquid droplets. A liquid spray of liquid droplets from a primary nebulizer is directed at an impaction device, producing droplets of smaller size. These smaller droplets are directed into a chamber and around a shroud where larger droplets are separated out. The smaller droplets then exit the chamber through one or more outlet ports.
