  • Patent number: 5746343
Abstract: A container assembly for transporting and storing liquids and semi-liquids, the container assembly including a rigid frame supporting a collapsible fabric bag which contains the liquid. The bag is hung at its upper end on tubes in the frame that are threaded through loops in the upper ends of the bag side walls. An elastically deformable support plate is in the frame for cushioning the shock of the bag during transport. The frame is collapsible to enable collapse of the bag after it is emptied.

  • Patent number: 4932551
Abstract: A plastic tank for storage and transport of liquids having a reinforcing sleeve for the discharge spout of the tank. The reinforcing sleeve comprises two identical generally C-shaped plate members which each have an overall circumferential length greater than one-half the circumference of the discharge spout to enable each plate member to be snap fit around the discharge spout and retained in place thereon. Each plate member has a V-shaped projection extending circumferentially from one end, and a corresponding recess at the other end to enable the plate members to interlock with one another and to axially self align on the discharge spout with the tip of the V-projection seating into the groove in the V-shaped recess.

  • Patent number: 4921126
Abstract: A supply system is disclosed for continuously supplying a liquid for in-plant use comprising a stationary liquid supply tank connected to an in-plant pumping or receiving system. The liquid supply tank is periodically refilled from a transport tank which is positioned on top of the supply tank and connected to the supply tank via a hose assembly connecting a bottom discharge in the transport tank to a top inlet in the supply tank. A sight tube is provided in the lower supply tank for visualizing the liquid level in the supply tank, and a vapor return tube is provided for removal of vapor from the supply tank to the transport tank as the transport tank contents are drained into the supply tank. Once the contents of the transport tank have been emptied into the supply tank, the transport tank is removed and returned to the liquid supplier for recycling. The supply tank is never completely emptied thereby enabling the flow of liquid to continue uninterruptedly for use in the plant.

  • Patent number: 4890756
Abstract: A container for storing and transporting liquids is disclosed having features to protect the tank from damage which may result in contamination or leaking of the contents. The tank lid has upward projections in its cover member to protect an access opening in the cover member and its closure plug. A lifting ring used by fork lifts to lift the tank extends outward from the tank body and also protects the cover member outer periphery and upper end of the tank should the tank be knocked over.

  • Patent number: 4785966
Abstract: A slide gate assembly for closure of a discharge opening in a container for bulk material which includes a continuous flexible seal residing in an inverted U-shaped chamber around the perimeter of the discharge opening. This flexible seal has a generally rectangular cross-section with a protruding lip or flap extending inward and downward from the lower inside corner of the seal cross-section. In addition, the seal has compressible ribs in the bottom side for engagement with the upper side of the slide gate. The seal lip or flap provides a squeegee action on the upper side of the slide gate during insertion and removal of the slide gate which insures that the upper surface of the slide gate outside of the seal lip is free of material so that a positive seal between the discharge opening and the slide gate is effected when the upper surface of the slide gate is pressed against the protruding ribs on the bottom side of the seal.

  • Patent number: 4648521
Abstract: A composite metal and plastic tank consisting of a metal frame assembly with a replaceable hollow plastic container mounted therein. The plastic container has downwardly inclined flow channels formed in its base to insure complete drainage of the container when desired and the bottom wall of the frame assembly is flat to enable handling of the tank with conventional fork lift equipment. A comprehensive dunnage plate is interposed in the frame assembly between the container base and the frame bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4605126
Abstract: A multiple tank and pallet assembly comprising a rectangular pallet and four rectangular tanks arranged in a side-by-side confined cluster on the pallet enabling handling and transport of the pallet and tanks as a unit, individual tanks being removable from the assembly when desired. Each of the tanks is particularly constructed to facilitate discharge of the contents so that the assembly can be used to dispense four different liquids.
