  • Publication number: 20240066518
Abstract: Broad volumetric range pipettes with multi-tiered pipette tip holder and ejection assemblies and methods of using such pipettes are disclosed herein. These pipettes typically include a concentric cylinder arrangement with each outer cylinder configured for contacting and dislodging a pipette tip attached to the tip holder portion of the immediately adjacent inner cylinder. In this manner, different sized pipette tips can be used on a single device. In addition, a locking mechanism is described for locking the large tip holder into a downward position to minimize the extension of the small tip holder and thereby enabling attachment of large, filtered pipette tips and reducing/eliminating the risk that the liquid being transferred will contaminate the pipetting device.

  • Patent number: 7314199
Abstract: A bow stand includes an upper section and a lower section connected by an articulating joint that allows the upper and lower sections to be folded flat against each other for compact storage. A point at the lower end of the lower section is pushed into the ground and an archer's bow is set into a U-shaped bracket mounted at the top of the top section for temporarily storing the bow without having it touch the ground.

  • Patent number: 4824076
Abstract: A cable winch having a pair of cable-gripping assemblies movably mounted on a support member adapted to be secured to a fixed point. An operating handle is pivoted to the support member, and linkages interconnect the handle with each of the assemblies to effect movement of the assemblies on the support member. A cable is winched by the assemblies alternately gripping, pulling, releasing and re-gripping the cable as the handle is operated. A kicker bar is pivotally supported adjacent to one of the gripping assemblies and coacts therewith to ensure that the movable gripping surface of the assembly positively releases its grip on the cable to ensure passage of the cable therethrough, while the remaining gripping assembly maintains its grip on the cable.

  • Patent number: 4769928
Abstract: A martial arts shoe and sole are provided. The shoe comprises in combination an upper with a sole, and may also include a cushion insert interposed between at least a portion thereof. The sole comprises a heel member including distal traction plates, a plurlaity of traction bars and a first plurality of cleats. The sole also comprises a front member bonded to the heel member which includes a cavity with a second plurality of cleats therein. The shoe is designed to fit snugly on the foot of the wearer, with the upper preferably constructed of a lightly padded material. The sole both provides traction and allows movement for a variety of martial arts practices, which in turn allows the shoe to be worn for normal day-to-day use.
