  • Patent number: 12528052
Abstract: Described herein is an ion pump system implementing an electronic ratchet mechanism produced by modulating a spatially varying electric potential distribution that can result in a net ionic current and voltage. The ion pumping membrane system includes an ion-permeable layer that can also be integrated with ion-selective membranes. The electric potential distribution within the ion-permeable layer is modulated through external stimuli. When immersed in solution, ions within the ion-permeable layer experience a time varying, spatially asymmetric electric field distribution resulting in ratchet-driven direct ion pumping, which can be used in applications such as desalination.

  • Patent number: 12330781
Abstract: A craft includes a hull, a wing, a hydrofoil, and a control system. The wing is configured to generate upwards aero lift as air flows past the wing to facilitate wing-borne flight of the craft. The hydrofoil is configured to generate upwards hydrofoil lift during a first mode of operation as water flows past the hydrofoil to facilitate hydrofoil-borne movement of the craft through the water. While the craft is hydrofoil-borne, the control system is configured to determine the upwards aero lift generated by the wing. The control system is further configured to control the hydrofoil to generate downwards hydrofoil lift to counteract the upwards aero lift generated by the wing that maintains the hydrofoil at least partially submerged in the water while the determined upwards aero lift is below a threshold lift.

  • Publication number: 20250086505
Abstract: A system for generating training data for a machine learning target prioritization model includes a processor and a memory having computer executable instructions stored thereon. The computer executable instructions are configured for execution by the processor to: cause the processor to receive rules linking a candidate targets to a goal, where the rules are incomplete, biased, and/or partially incorrect, cause the processor to generate voters, where each voter is associated with a corresponding rule and each voter contains the logic of each corresponding rule, cause the processor to assign, via each one of the voters, at least one of an association value or an abstention to each one of the candidate targets, and cause the processor to create a single training label for each one of the candidate targets having at least one association value by combining the association values assigned to each respective candidate target.

  • Publication number: 20220113273
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus related to electrochemistry. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a light source and a potentiostat. The potentiostat is operable to be connected to an electrochemical cell. A counter electrode connection of the potentiostat is operable to be connected to a photoelectrode of the electrochemical cell. A working electrode connection of the potentiostat is operable to be connected to the working electrode of the electrochemical cell. The light source positioned to illuminate the photoelectrode when the light source is operating. When the apparatus is in operation, the potentiostat is used to bias the photoelectrode to allow for control of the voltage applied to the electrochemical cell, and an intensity of light incident upon the photoelectrode is varied to allow for control of the current applied to the electrochemical cell.

  • Patent number: 10298875
Abstract: An evidentiary management process for digital data associated with a localized Miranda-type process includes first detecting an electronic Miranda-type process trigger event, capturing audio/video of a suspect and storing a unique identifier of the suspect, selecting a particular stored Miranda-type warning variation, and then playing back the selected warning variation and storing an indication thereof. Then the unique identifier of the suspect and the stored indication of the warning variation are aggregated into a single data structure. An electronic anti-tamper process is then applied to the single data structure to generate an anti-tamper indicator, and the single data structure and anti-tamper indicator are stored or transmitted to a remote device.

  • Patent number: 9210555
Abstract: An adaptor that includes a male connector, a control circuit, and a wireless transceiver coupleable to a corresponding female connector on a portable electronic device provides push-to-talk functionality on the portable electronic device. In conjunction with the device operating system, the adaptor converts a first incoming signal to a first number of low impedance/high impedance pulses detectable by the portable electronic device to initiate a push-to-talk session. During the push-to-talk session, the adaptor transceiver wirelessly transmits and receives communication signals (e.g., audio signals) to and from an accessory device communicably coupled to the adapter. In conjunction with the device operating system, the adaptor converts a second incoming signal to a second number of low impedance/high impedance pulses detectable by the portable electronic device to terminate the push-to-talk session.
