Abstract: A device and a method are disclosed for handling construction materials such as wall boards or the like. The device includes an elongated body and an upstanding wall which projects from the top surface of the body between the opposed front and rear surfaces thereof. The upstanding wall and the top surface of the body cooperate to form a support region therebetween for supporting a building panel proximate a supporting structure such as a stud wall. In use, the device is temporarily secured to the supporting structure and a building panel such as a wall board is positioned in the support region. Once positioned in the support region, the wall board may be easily manipulated and secured to the supporting structure by a sole individual.
