  • Patent number: 10670756
Abstract: Methods and systems performing joint inversion determination of surface-consistent amplitude corrections are provided. A method includes receiving a seismic data set including P-P data and P-S data, and preparing the P-P data and the P-S data for a joined inversion to produce prepared P-P data and prepared P-S data. The method further includes performing a joined inversion on both the prepared P-P data and the prepared P-S data to calculate final surface consistent scalars. The method also includes outputting a corrected P-P trace determined from the P-P data and a P-P gain obtained from the final surface consistent scalars, and a corrected P-S trace determined from the P-S data and a P-S gain obtained from the final surface consistent scalars.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a method, which includes receiving a seismic data set including P-P data and P-S data, and preparing the P-P data and the P-S data for a joined inversion to produce prepared P-P data and prepared P-S data. The method further includes performing a joined inversion on both the prepared P-P data and the prepared P-S data to calculate final surface consistent scalars. The method further includes outputting a corrected P-P trace based, at least in part, on the P-P data, and a P-P gain, wherein the P-P gain is based, at least in part, on the final surface consistent scalars and outputting a corrected P-S trace based, at least in part, on the P-S data and a P-S gain, wherein the P-S gain is based, at least in part, ROM on the final surface consistent scalars.

  • Patent number: 9348049
Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating the residual static terms for multi-component land datasets are described. A one-pass estimation simultaneously using P-P pre-stack data and P-S pre-stack data for generating common source residual statics for the P-P data and the P-S data and separate receiver residual statics for the P-P data and the P-S data. A series of iterations are performed using either a linear or a non-linear simulation to converge on acceptable residual statics.

  • Patent number: 9291736
Abstract: Methods and systems for a surface-consistent amplitude and deconvolution simultaneous joined inversion are described. A one-pass estimation using input trace data for generating gain and deconvolution operator based on a least squares iteration method. A series of iterations are performed simultaneously and independently estimating amplitude scalars and autocorrelation spectra with a common convergence criterion. The gain and deconvolution operator can further be used to correct the input trace data for pre-stack or stack imaging.

  • Publication number: 20140200817
Abstract: Methods and systems for constraining surface consistent amplitude corrections are described. An amplitude map generated from pre-stack or post-stack seismic data can constrain, through the bin term, the surface consistent inversion. The methods and systems provide a solution to correct for wavelength and regional anomalies associated with heterogeneous near surface or buried velocity variations above the target horizon. The methods and systems can be used for 2D, 3D, 4D surveys or for a merge of different surveys.
