Abstract: A tool for use with wrapping paper comprises a unitary, plastic stick and a length of at least 18 inches. The stick extends linearly and has serrations defined in the plastic stick on a first side and has a non-serrated second side, opposite the first side, separated by a width. The serrations are adjacent a bracing surface and are parallel to the wrapping paper when the bracing surface is disposed on top of the wrapping paper. In particular embodiments, a non-skid feature can be added to the bracing surface, as well as a lip to self-orient the tool relative to the edge of wrapping paper. The tool can be provided within the hollow central core of a roll of wrapping paper, and enclosed therein by a clear plastic wrap. A product resulting from a 3D printing process is also described.

Abstract: A zoom in/out interface to a ratings system provides navigation to users for inspection and interaction with prescribed indicators underlying an integrated rating of a company's performance. The interface presents at various different depths in a hierarchy of the prescribed indicators the multivariate relationships that exist among the indicators, expressed as variable values, as well as the basis for the underlying values of each indicator down to the source of the data.

Weighting factors are applied to the parameter in order control the relative affect each parameter has on the user's calculated numerical. The health score is computed using the processor by combining the weighted parameters in accordance with an algorithm. The numerical value is published to a designated group via a portal, while the underlying parameters remain private. In one implementation, the portal is an internet based information sharing forum.

Further, sensed information associated with at least one of biological information, physiological information and physical activity of the user can be received from a different device which is configured to sense information. Moreover, a processing subsystem that includes a processor and processor readable media can be configured to process the sensed information, via, to provide processed user information, and to determine health-related information, via the processing subsystem, using the assessment information and the processed user information.

Abstract: A wearable device is disclosed configured to provide and transmit user information. Health-related information that is associated with a user information is received and output to a user. The wearable device can include a display configured to provide a user interface and a sensor senses information associated with biological features, physiological features and/or physical activity of the user, while the device is being worn. A communications subsystem is provided that is configured to communicate with the remote computing device. The wearable device includes a processing subsystem is provided and configured to process the sensed information to provide processed user information. The processed user information is transmitted via the communication subsystem, to the remote computing device, and health-related information associated with the processed user information is received from the remote computing device. The health-related information is provided, via the user interface, on the display.

Abstract: Time record entries are automatically constructed using software modules and methods for presentation in response to prescribed interactions with email and other electronic messages in which there is a basis for recording a time-record. Heuristics are applied to parsed electronic messages to construct proposed time-record entries. The timekeeper has discretion whether to approve any proposed entries. Software tools are also disclosed to present and manage the automatically constructed time-record entries. The invention eliminates reliance upon the timekeeper to capture such activities as billable events in the first instance, and thereby can increase revenue opportunities. The same heuristics used to identify the entity to be charged for the activity can also be used to identify a logical path for storage of incoming and outgoing messages in a record management system.

The person making the rebate request is enabled to make the follow-on purchase, with the rebate being converted into the instant credit or price reduction against the total price of the follow-on purchase. The follow-on purchase transaction is completed by charging that person for the purchase. The credit or price reduction can be conditioned on at least one predetermined criterion such as amount being spent on the follow-on purchase, the vendor from which the follow-on purchase is being made, and other criteria. The credit or price reduction can be redeemed in parts across a series of follow-on purchase transactions. In another aspect of the invention, consumers are advised of rebate offers.

Abstract: A handheld appliance suitable for skin treatment and/or personal care operations comprises an applicator structure having a thermally conductive element supported so as to be exposable to controlled release of pressurized fluid within a gas-expansion chamber. The just-expanded gas causes an endothermic reaction in which heat is removed from the applicator. The applicator is usable to then draw heat energy from skin, etc. When applied to skin, a numbing effect is experienced which can ease pain associated with depilation, discomfort associated with exfoliation, be useful in treating wounds, etc.

Abstract: Volatization of oil to impart a scent into air in an environment includes sensing a wireless transmitted signal in the environment and selectively outputting a control signal in response to the sensed wireless signal. The control signal activates a heater. Oil is transferred to a target region proximate the heater. The oil is actively volatized by the heater. Optionally, further wireless signals can be ignored until a cycle is complete, such that volatization occurs in response to only a portion of wireless signals in the environment. An apparatus can be so constructed to volatize oil in response to wireless signal events in the environment.

Abstract: Disclosed are improvements in digital copier machines and methods for controlling an output job to issue onto a removable digital storage media. A drive unit is provided and configured to removably receive a removable digital storage medium such as an optical disc. A picker mechanism is configured to deliver the removable digital storage medium to the drive unit from a supply of a plurality of removable digital storage media in response to a load drive unit signal. A selector is provided on the interface and operational logic is provided which is responsive to a user selection of the selector to issue the load drive unit signal and to convey the digital data between the control unit of the digital copier machine and the drive unit.
