  • Patent number: 10713906
Abstract: A portable electronic device used for monitoring and alerting about the presence of an object includes an enclosure having a portability mechanism and an electronic circuit having a motion detection sensor, a bipolar junction transistor, an alert generator, a Bluetooth® module and a power source coupled to the motion detection sensor, the bipolar junction transistor, the alert generator and the Bluetooth® module. The motion detection sensor is configured to detect movement of the object across an area in front of the sensor and generate a timed output signal. The bipolar junction transistor is communicatively coupled to the motion detection sensor and configured to activate a control signal in response to the timed output signal. The alert generator and the Bluetooth® module are communicatively coupled to the bipolar junction transistor and configured to produce an alert and a Bluetooth® signal respectively in response to the control signal.
