  • Publication number: 20230016106
Abstract: A stator for an electric machine comprises a cylindrical core defining an inner cylindrical surface and an outer cylindrical surface with a plurality of slots formed between the inner cylindrical surface and the outer cylindrical surface. Windings are positioned on the cylindrical core. The leads of the windings include a plurality of inner leads associated with conductors in an inner layer of the slots and a plurality of outer leads associated with conductors in an outer layer of the slots. A bus bar assembly includes a plurality of inner bus bars and a plurality of outer bus bars, the plurality of inner bus bars connected to the plurality of inner leads, and the plurality of outer bus bars connected to the plurality of outer leads. The plurality of outer bus bars are positioned radially outward from the end turns of the windings and radially inward from the outer cylindrical surface.

  • Publication number: 20140065880
Abstract: The present invention provides a component such as an IMS that can quickly and easily be connected to a wide variety of different plug-type connectors. A modular system is taught in which a shield of the IMS is provided as an interchangeable part. Each different shield in this system is adapted to directly connect to a specific unique plug or harness of a target vehicle. Since the shields are all easily interchangeable, a wide variety of unique electrical connectors can be provided without the expense and engineering of the original component that would otherwise be required.

  • Publication number: 20140028127
Abstract: A buss bar assembly for electrically interconnecting phase leads extending from a plurality of individual coil winding assemblies of a stator. The buss bar body has an annular housing defining a central axis and a support for positioning the housing relative to coil winding assemblies. A phase bar disposed about the central axis is at least partially disposed within the housing and has contacts at locations about the central axis. Each contact is engageable from outside of the annular housing and angularly spaced from another contact. The buss bar assembly is adapted for installation relative to the coil winding assemblies such that the housing surrounds the stator central axis, the body axially inner face interfaces the stator coil winding assemblies, and the contacts are spaced by the support from the coil winding assemblies and engaged with phase leads. Also a method for installing a buss bar assembly.
