  • Publication number: 20180218360
Abstract: A system and method for communicating gift card purchases, performed at a server, includes receiving a request from a benefactor to establish a gift card account for a beneficiary; creating a gift card account record which stores an identifier of the beneficiary and contact information of the benefactor; receiving a request from the beneficiary to purchase an item; receiving or acquiring a digital identifier of the item; and in response to the request from the beneficiary: authorizing the requested purchase; and sending a gift message to the benefactor using the benefactor contact information stored in the gift card account record. The gift message includes the digital identifier of the purchased item, includes the identifier of the beneficiary, and indicates that the beneficiary has used credit from the gift card account to purchase the purchased item.

  • Patent number: 9928503
Abstract: A method and system are provided for communicating digitized data associated with a purchase made by expenditure of a monetary credit account, such as a gift card account. The digitized data may be or comprise audio, photographic or video data. A gift card may be provided that relates to a monetary credit account that may specify an expendable monetary value, a benefactor who initiated the account, and a beneficiary who may use the monetary card. The gift card may record of at least part of the monetary credit account. The system may enable the generation of an electronic message that includes digitized data representing a purchased item and the message may be communicated to a photo-sharing webservice and/or an address associated with the benefactor. The digitized data may be a photograph, icon or a graphic image and the purchased item may be a service, good, license, lease, rent, or permission.

  • Publication number: 20140025565
Abstract: A method and system are provided for integrating a the generation and communication of digitized data associated with a monetary credit account, such as a gift card account, with an account management suite, such as a sales automation system or a customer relationship management system. The invented method allows a user of an electronically accessible data base to create an assigned-value account that is pre-authorized for use with at least one designated merchant, credit card network, debit card network or financial services provider. The user may select from among a plurality of primary merchants, wherein the identification of the assigned-value account includes a branding association of a single primary merchant. Access to the established assigned-value account may be furnished to a beneficiary by an electronic communications network, whereby the beneficiary may receive and/or provide identity information required and sufficient to enable access to the assigned-value account.

  • Publication number: 20130317900
Abstract: A method and system include a server module that provides reward as a service to customers via an electronics communications network. The customers then use separate and customized reward system software authorizations to generate, manage and issue reward account information to recipients. The deployment of the invented software may be accomplished by means of a plurality of client software operating on separately addressable client machines. The server module may be adapted to offer distinguishable groups of reward choices via different software interfaces. The invented method optionally offers an application program interface that enables communication between each configurable and configured client software and a rewards application server. The optional rewards application server is adapted to directly or indirectly fulfill reward issuance requests.

  • Publication number: 20130186405
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a medical device to ensure usage compliance by a patient are described herein. The method can include the steps of monitoring one or more parameters associated with the operation of the medical device, comparing the monitored parameters with one or more predetermined operational profiles and generating a signal that is indicative of whether the medical device is being used by the patient in substantial conformance with a predetermined usage pattern assigned to that patient. In one arrangement, the use of the medical device by the patient requires voluntary actions on the part of the patient to be in substantial conformance with the predetermined usage pattern.

  • Publication number: 20060035593
Abstract: A method (700, 800, 900) and apparatus (1000, 1100) increase a signal quality by analyzing an input signal and output signals from adaptive filters (410, 510, 512, 514) associated with predetermined signal plus noise plus interference classifications. An actual signal plus noise plus interference classification of the input signal is determined and one of the output signals or the input signal is selected based on a favorable Signal to Noise Ratio or a Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio. The output signals from the adaptive filters are weighted based on analysis such as statistical analysis (310) including quantified auto-regressive analysis, Eigenvalue spread analysis, correlation analysis, feedback analysis, and covariance analysis. The predetermined classifications include various combinations of characteristics associated with the signal and interference components.
