  • Patent number: 7280999
Abstract: A network address server is configured to resolve a target network address name label with a network address, with the target address name label defining a branch of one level of a multi-level network address name space. The network address server is one of a plurality of network address servers each being uniquely associated with a respective region of the address name space level. The network server includes an address name database, and an address name processor in communication with the address name database for providing a response to a query for the network address corresponding to the target address name label. The address name database includes a number of database records, each identifying a unique address name label and a network address uniquely associated with the address name label.

  • Publication number: 20060071683
Abstract: Described are on-die termination (ODT) systems and methods that facilitate high-speed communication between a transmitter die and a receiver die interconnected via one or more signal transmission lines. An ODT control system in accordance with one embodiment calibrates and maintains the termination resistances for the signal transmission lines. The ODT control system derives a number of calibration currents from precision voltage and resistance references and distributes the reference currents to a number of transmitters. Each transmitter then derives an ODT calibration signal using the respective reference current and another precision resistor, and then employs the calibration signal to calibrate local termination elements. Distributing calibrated currents provides excellent noise immunity, while limiting the requisite number of external voltage references reduces cost.

  • Publication number: 20050118136
Abstract: A polyanionic polymer can improve the bioactivity and water-solubility properties of a drug to which it is joined. The inventive method provides a monodispersed preparation of a recombinantly-produced polyanionic polymer that can be easily manipulated, such as lengthened. An active moiety may be chemically or recombinantly joined to a polyanionic polymer to increase its biological half-life and/or solubility. The instant invention also provides a method for targeting the delivery of a polyanionic polymer conjugate or fusion protein to a specific cell type or tissue.

  • Publication number: 20020150945
Abstract: A method for high-throughput genomics analysis, to identify the therapeutic or diagnostic utility of genes, entails the use of a construct to disrupt a gene or alleles of a gene in cells of interest. Arrays of such cells can be used to monitor such disrupted cells phenotypically in the context, for example, of testing drug candidates. Polynucleotides that comprise part of the disrupted genes can be recovered from such “knockout” cells, by virtue of an origin of replication or a host cell selection marker sequence that is part of the construct. The recovered polynucleotides can be used to identify the disrupted genes or to make homologous recombination vectors, which in turn can be employed to make multi-allele knockout cells. Double-stranded RNA molecules designed to target the recovered polynucleotide are used to downregulate the polynucleotide in vitro and in vivo, following determination of a therapeutically effective dosage of the RNAi molecule.
