  • Publication number: 20230064095
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to an inline safety valve providing for robust handling of very high pressures due to the fact that only static seals are utilized, and the seals are placed outside the flow path of fluid. This design allows for release of potential energy in a controlled fashion with an adjustable bias or back pressure. The inline safety valve can have a valve body, a poppet, a piston disposed between a portion of the poppet and the valve body, a plurality of holes disposed on the poppet allowing a fluid to flow therethrough, a bias on the piston forcing the piston toward the poppet, and a static seal disposed between the poppet and the valve body, wherein the static seal is not within a flow path of the fluid. In embodiments, fluid flow through the plurality of holes can cause a displacement of the piston.

  • Patent number: 11575711
Abstract: A system manages usage of a network-enabled user device. A policy storage is separately located relative to the user device and stores usage policy sets. Each policy set comprises policies defining usage permissions/restrictions applicable to the user device. The system associates a first user with a first time period and a second user with a second time period, each time period exclusive of other time periods. The first user selects/modifies a first policy set for applying during the first time period, and the second user selects/modifies a second policy set for applying during the second time period. The first user cannot select/modify any policy set applicable during the second time period, and the second user cannot select/modify any policy set applicable during the first time period. A usage request from the user device is allowed/denied based on the policy set to be applied when the usage request is made.

  • Publication number: 20220351213
Abstract: The system and methods described herein provide a way for writers and publishers to stand behind individual and combined facts in their work by offering a bounty to a person who can supersede their own data in support of the fact's accuracy with better data, as measured by a pre-established fact evaluation guideline. Once sufficiently vetted by this system, facts are added to an apolitical certified fact database. Facts in the certified fact database also have a bounty upon their accuracy, however financial responsibility for the bounty is transferred to the system. Subscribers to the system may then download and use fact contained within the certified fact database to enhance their own work, while benefiting from the enhanced readership, interest and. trustworthiness provided by virtue of the bounty.

  • Publication number: 20220150321
Abstract: A technique for accelerating dynamic content delivery in a content delivery network. In some embodiments of the invention, responsive to a request that is sent by a client and that is for dynamic content, a client-proxy hosted in a datacenter of a CDN sends the request to a “forwarder-proxy” hosted in another datacenter of the same CDN. The forwarder-proxy, responsive to the request for dynamic content, forwards the request to an origin server and does not cache the dynamic content. The datacenter selected for the forwarder-proxy is one that is “close” to the origin server in terms of round-trip time (RTT) to improve network performance for requests for dynamic content.

  • Patent number: 11329996
Abstract: A method by a web application layer proxy for dynamically creating counters during runtime based on actual web application layer requests received by the web application layer proxy. The method includes installing a counting rule in the web application layer proxy, where the counting rule specifies a set of parameters based upon which to create counters, receiving a web application layer request generated by a web application client that is intended for a web application server, determining a set of parameter values associated with the web application layer request that corresponds to the set of parameters specified by the counting rule, and creating a counter associated with the set of parameter values associated with the web application layer request in response to a determination that a counter associated with the set of parameter values associated with the web application layer request does not exist.
